  1. As was said on PB (http://www.pinkbike.com/news/luck-of-the-irish-race-day-ews-round-3-ireland.html)... Flat f*%king pedals win medals.
  2. Don't order shoes from CRC you'll get Klapped with minimum 40% import duty. Loads of 5.10 available in RSA (Dial'd Bikes is one place). Your other option are the Specialized 2FO flat shoes from any Spaz dealer. I ride em and they're super nice although I'm not 100% safisfied with durability, but Spaz seems to have no issue replacing them if necessary.
  3. The DMR V8's...indestructable, not not a large platform and pins are hard to replace. Rode mine for about 4 years and eventually replaced em...more for cosmetic reasons than anything else
  4. I would use em on all terrain types fo sho
  5. Mr Bibi is riding an Insurgent, Warden, Following, Wreakoning...tough life
  6. Yea i know the difference, just previously thought he was riding the Following in that vid. Either way...damn impressive some of the other vids of The Following and the ethos behind the design of it
  7. Ahhh...always thought it was the Following :|
  8. Yep...this is not a marathon bike and putting a 120mm fork on it would hurt its soul...Any re-seller allowing that should have their licence revoked
  9. Then there is THIS,..... http://www.mbr.co.uk/videos/watch/watch-luke-strobel-win-a-downhill-race-on-a-29er-trail-bike
  10. Yep, sunlight takes too long to stop being slippery...Windowlene FTW
  11. You mean the 1l for R300 or so?
  12. I wanted to order previously, but this thread did kick my arse into gear to get along and actually do it
  13. Same...ridden very hard and fallen very hard with non-lockons like ESI and not had issue, except with tearing. But whether it's lockon or not silicone will tear in that event.
  14. So ordered yesterday afternoon, arrived today....That in itself is impressive but they are in CT However...the end caps are what struck me the most. Not krappy flimsy plastic, but seemingly a nice firm rubber. Way nicer than the ESI ones I used to have. Looking forward to riding with these guys
  15. I was pondering it, but man I stopped pondering and now have obviously not saved to go this year
  16. Lol I ordered earlier as well as been um'ing n ah'ing about it for a while...Seems they're going to be VERY busy the next few days...and hopefully a lot longer too
  17. Lol...tis not about being fearless... I am very very very far from fearless. But holy **** it was actually pathetic that people physically capable of riding that race had such little technical skill Yes cos all the dirt roadies climb hills like mountain goats or were better seeded
  18. Crashing is good for you man. I took one as well...300m from the end If you didn't break anything or get seriously hurt then who cares. Often though people fall because they are going TOO slowly to actually even roll over obstacles/etc, or break suddenly and get people (aka almost ME and 2 riding partners) riding into the back of them
  19. Jeez...recently decided to give Squrt and even Smoove another go... Even going so far as to put an individual drop on each link then wipe excess...just doesn't do it for me. It really appears to leave a buildup. Rock n Roll Extreme all the way...the blue one...When you can find the stuff buy 3 bottles, seems to be scarce whenever I'm running low on an old bottle!
  20. Oh and some more dirt road we can't usually ride...which I walked a fari bit of anyway
  21. Who'd anyone say is best to go to in Cape Town? I have a great guy in Sommerset, but he's only available in office hours...and well work and all means I cannot get around there to drop off or pickup
  22. I ride them trails all the time..This 45km felt incredibly tough, but perhaps I just had an off-day. The entry fee really was over the top for what one got...or didn't get. And every time I do one of these races I am astounded at the lack of skill of people when things go into the negative gradient. People must be going through brake pads at a hell of a rate Even the super tame decent into Hillcrest from the top of Contermans peeps were on their brakes constantly. And why they put us on the top section of the blue at Contermans and then proceeded to cut out the bottom section in favour of more dirt road I don't know. But alas I need to get used to racing and being tuck behind people as W2W is coming up later
  23. I removed...didn't read the clip part initially...doh!
  24. Yep, was end of the day and besides...predator kit was overkill...but helps the mind
  25. Its the bottom of the DH line (I think). The main DH line had tape acropss it at the start so didn't ride in from there but on the enduro? trail..First time there so not super sure.
