  1. ESPECIALLY seeing as we have NOTHING on the Tygerberg trails to train for decent drops or gaps or rock gardens
  2. So this is my Vitus I built up for Wine 2 Whales as my Banshee Spitfre was going to be a bit of a dog to pedal those distances 3 days in a row. Shares a wheelset and pedals with the Bashee...because you know...Wheelsets are EXPENSIVE! Anyway, rides like a bloody dream, even over all the "technical" stuff on Tygerberg trails. Loving it so far and dig that the colour scheme is all matchy-matchy
  3. No creak creak creak if you lube it Timing is always a prob Sigh
  4. Ah...well that's not a problem...a Fanta can cut and folded twice makes a perfect shim...the thickness varies between about 0.31 and 0.33mm...Made one to put my 30.9 Reverb into my 31.6 Vitus frame.
  5. The Lyne 150mm post is 455mm total length, is that too short?
  6. Getting em out after they've hit rocks. Tearing out and destroying the threads. Wonder if they'll be available locally at all.
  7. Dudes...this was soooooo unbelievably amazing...Even though I was swearing ALL of the last hike-a-bike and probably half of the first on the way up
  8. no news on the 150mm internally routed yet?
  9. We are...sort of...but the trails would take too much pounding
  10. Just be careful moving the chainring inwards towards the frame. I did this on my OneTwenty (32T oval) using the Kalbo ones (maybe 2mm) and is caused the chainring to rub on the chainstay at full suspension travel. So let all the air out of your shock, depress the bike and check that as well when fiddling.
  11. OneTwenty all the way yo on CSiXX wheelset
  12. He usually uses these: http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/all-mountain-frame-guard-xl
  13. Yeah my FUNNduro is 50 or 45 at the moment...Dunno why people think short stems making climbing hard...I made it all the way up the concrete climb to the top of Conties the other day
  14. Got me a nice short stem, so gonna give it a burn this weekend and see how (if) things change up.
  15. I have one of these... https://www.mountainmailorder.co.za/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=3269 Amazing at wicking away sweat and they take forever to start stinking....But yes, they're expensive, but much better than the bamboo ones by First Ascent
  16. More important to know whether it will ever be available locally? ....
  17. Available locally though?
  18. That tower is about twice the size in real life when you stand under it compared to how big it looks in this video :|
  19. I did read your post properly thanks. How long ago was the trail opened, 2 year, more? So you expect people to go troll through that many facebook posts and old newsletter or visit every link on the club's website? Put a small sign saying compulsory and people will comply otherwise most will not even know.
  20. *Grabs popcorn* Not everyone can be expected to read every bit of detail on the website and the trail marker does not say anything about portage...I know of nobody (except now you) who has ever walked across that road
  21. Tonnes of devil thornes, but since I make sure I have tyre sealant I have no issues The rocks tend not to be sharp, that Malmsbury group stuff tends to break up easily and get rounded.. You may just have been unlucky the past weekend. Enjoy and don't be weary of Lombards, its chilled...And honestly, if I was racing some the the B lines are much faster IMHO anyway than the jumps
