    I think the correct application of the bike to a race should make a difference. For instance, I did the race to the sun ( 100 miler gravel grind with odd single track and here and there ) last year on my dual suspension mtb. I will ride it this year on my carbon gravel bike that weighs half the weight and is specifically designed for gravel roads, I think and hope it will make a big difference....................

    When we where at the stadium in January at the Cagliari game we witnessed all we could wish for, even a Ronaldo hatrick...................but we missed il Capitano and il ex-Capitano on the field

    Bull I grew up in Hillcrest Natal and it was pretty remote in those days. Plenty black commuters on bikes as there was no transport for them really. Apartheid was backward and evil, but that sort of control is necessary to know how many pets and bikes are out there................

    Many years ago during bad old apartheid we paid pet and bicycle fees. Used to get a little metal disc that fitted on the seat bracket for all to see and pets carried disc on their collars........................

    That is why I have been legally taking money out the country for over 20 years........it is expensive but do not want to get caught in that trap here one day, this is Africa afterall!

    There is a ride from van Gaalens to breedts nek and back on January 26, ride for Erik ( check out the facebook page ). A great way to learn the route and ride with like minded people, also the R250 is for a great cause.
