  1. For sale in America in December: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-Specialized-Venge-Pro-Road-Bicycle-Sram-Red-Mavic-Ksyrium-ES-Race-Bike-54cm-/131077542250?nma=true&si=tumKpLQ7p%252Fb8dyoJT9%252Bj0UzLHqQ%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Spain in April: http://www.clasf.es/specialized-venge-pro-camino-de-la-bicicleta-sram-red-en-vilviestre-del-pinar-11462517/
  2. Shimano Dura Ace direct mount brakes. Probably because Campag dont yet make them.
  3. A person doing the testing died. I know at my job, if I die, it will take my replacement a couple of months to get up to speed.
  4. Because the buck stops with us. He ain't positive unless the hub says so.
  5. Professional cycling was, is, and always will be a huge joke. A spectacle for entertaining and that's about all.
  6. Its no good. I had one that was cracked on every lug. Eventually cut the frame up to see how it was all glued/screwed together.
  7. Have a few made locally, get some feedback, then take your design to China and have them make it at a fraction of the cost.
  8. Nonsense, this cyclist has found squats to by highly beneficial: http://i.imgur.com/clgln.jpg
  9. That's a leg press, has nothing to do with a squad.
  10. You're just making this whole issue a storm in a C Cup.
  11. Do you mean like a "Squad of Cheerleaders"? If yes, then I would feel obliged to.
  12. I sold mine in similar condition for $120 here in Aus.
  13. LOL. For every one cycling fan in SA there are at least 100 soccer fans. Money talks, and if it made business sense to have a dedicated cycling channel then they would have done it.
  14. Those are fake. Boras are all carbon, those in the pic have an alu brake track.
  15. I guess thats where my Zini's model name came from, (Ill campione). Bike shops in those days were a place where you could hang out. i remember spending hours after school chatting to various bike shop owners on my daily rides. I dont how they tolerated us young punks knowing we spent hardly anything, in fact, often they would help us out for nothing. Far cry from todays shops.
  16. Very sad news. Used to catch the train from the west rand to Joburg in the mid 80's just to go window shopping at Deal and Huth. They were the first cycling mega store and even listed on the stock exchange during the late 80's cycling boom.
  17. Most Look titaniums were made by Litespeed, so I think its a pretty cool bike. I paid 3.5K for a Colnago Titanio a while back, so I would say this shouldn't be much more than that considering the components.
  18. I think the pom media is trying to make out that Froome is being a whinger whiner and is calling all the shots at Sky,. The fact is that Brailsford is in charge and Froome is still just an employee, he doesn't get to decide on these matters. Sky is a British company and to have a Knighted POM over a Kenyan wannabe POM in a TDF starting in the UK is a much better business proposition and probably what the British public would prefer. But still, Brailsford chose Chris over Wiggo, so I’m thinking that the high and mighty Wiggo has seriously burnt his bridges with Brailsford..
  19. I think in the case of my bike it was the cheaper option if you wanted to go aero levers.
  20. I see the bike had Shimano 600 brake levers when I got it:
  21. I bought a Daccordi from an ex Argus winner which was full Campagnolo equipped. It was a top of the range SLX frame so probably purchased as a frame and fork.
  22. Although its not.exactly top of the range, it does have some local history behind it. It was made in Bellville by the father of a member of this forum, (although I haven't seen him post much here lately). It looks to be in nice condition, but other than sentimental value it isn't worth much. I
  23. In my days etiquette wasn't something that was taught per se. Those long pumps running along your seat tube were there for more than one reason, as my ex Rhodesian champion/mentor demonstrated to me on more than one occasion. Those were the days of national service / initiation and PK's, and we knew exactly where we stood in the pecking order. In the 80's they used to let some of us laaities without track bikes train with the big okes on the track, under one condition, "don't touch your brakes". I only made that mistake once, and found out the hard way what being 'switched' meant.
  24. He's part of the new generation of bike skills. Just compare bmx riders of today with 20 years ago, light years apart. If i had to give any kid advise, i'd say start off with bmx and progress to MTB, then road if it strikes your fancy. If you start off on road its really hard to master bike handling skills like that when you're older.
  25. Cannondale should use that catch phrase in all ads from now on, Cannondale F...... Awesome!
