If I could choose it all over again I’d keep my HT. My DS is excellent but just overall the HT is cheaper and simpler even though slightly less comfortable. And that is just because I’m a fatty at 1,8m and 100kg.
I did the same move and couldn't agree more, especially wrt simplicity and maintenance.
Thinking of getting a carbon HT frame and transferring all my components, keeping the FS frame for when and if the need arises (stage races). Usually only get to ride once a week. HT is even better when the fitness is there, bike is a lot more fun and agile with the weight reduction.
Gravel tyres on a 29er wheel, does the tyre fit?
My wahoo Tickr worked better than the previous garmin I had, both packed up.
Tickr has periods where the heart rate reading is "stuck" and flat lines on whatever the last reading was, e.g. 130 bpm for 2 minutes. Then it reads again for a few seconds at a different HR and flat lines again, this repeats itself over and over. It is most obvious at the bottom of the screen on Zwift, where you can see the HR graph.
What I have never had an issue is my Garmin Fenix 3 HR, sapphire edition. Only negative about wrist based HR monitors, it does not read and respond as quickly as chest HR straps.
Now I just Bluetooth broadcast my HR from the watch to my head unit.

The belt broke. LBS contacted Wahoo, who advised that they do not even try to repair the units, and I have to buy a new one, at almost 12k.
Not impressed. Won't be buying from Wahoo again.
Google the issue, someone online found a car belt that is the equivalent of the belt used on the trainer for a fraction of the cost. Motor industry has many belts, bring the one that broke, so they can match it up and ensure its the same?
Disclaimer: I have not done this myself, but saw it being done locally and internationally.
I would advise that you report this matter to the Information Regulator in terms of POPI. Cover your tracks in the case of identity theft. Also report to the bank simultaneously. If something does happen with your personal information after the date you report to these institutions, you have a timeline of events, proof on record and a series of reference numbers.

If you're after alu / steel then there is a nice Nukeproof that should be boost, some 'steel' momsen's that might be but they aren't real steel (reynolds / columbus) and then I'm guessing this little Banshee Paradox is a beauty. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/hardtail-mountain-bike-frames/662731/banshee-paradox-v3 an the is one of the nicest alu frames and won't rattle the fillings or scare you on the fun downs. Carbon? Not too sure have no really ideas about plastic frame. 😏
I’m into XC racing, so the geometry unfortunately does play a role and limits the choice of frame.

Who is the dealer in SA, where I can view the frames, or does it have to be imported? I see it’s for frames of 130-140mm forks, mine is 100mm 💆♂️
I previously had a carbon hardtail, absolutely enjoyed it before it got stolen.
Since then, been on a boost dual suspension with excellent fork, carbon wheels and groupset.
I have always thought of going back to the hardtail, since it is far more fun to ride. I have been thinking of getting a boost hardtail frame, swapping my components over and keeping the dual suspension frame for stage / adventure races.
Where does one find boost hardtail frames? Only one i can find is the Trek Procalibre on their website. however, the frame is priced at the cost of the full hardtail bike 🙃

Actual Build:
Sadly our lovely customs delayed this build by inspecting the shipment. in the process the saddle and seatpost went missing. gotta love RSA!
So in order to keep this build rolling i have had to make a few flying changes.
CHANGES:
- Seatpost: ITM uniko black carbon 27.2mm
- Saddle: Prologo M5 Scratch Nack Carbon saddle
- Tires: Conti GP5000 S TR 28mm (my preferred tires)
Additions and finishings:
- PRO carbon bottle cages
and some teasers for you nasty kids!
Graphics going from Silver to rainbow is so fresh! love it!
Excuse me sir, but internal rim width on those ENVE's is wider than the wheels on my dual suspension mountain bike 🙃🤣

The website provides a percentage breakdown for refunds if the event is cancelled. Unfortunately, if the event was cancelled in the month it was to take place, which it did, there is no refund.

Thank you! Mine was sent from Taiwan, took a little over a month by now. Will make a turn tomorrow. I did not receive an option to courier it through a company with DHL when I logged my warranty claim 🥲
Hi Hubbers,
Does anyone know where SAPO ZA63803 is located? Trying to Track down my BOA warranty order, thanks.
You can remove the valve core on both presta and schrader valves, I removed by daughters schrader valve on her 16 inch tube and inserted stans sealant.
Another option is to insert a tyre liner between the tube and tyre. I used to MTB (marathon bike) with with a tyre liner before going tubeless and I my tubes did not puncture. Used to ride a lot on table mountain and kirstenbosch. Even raced with the tyre liner, it is very effective.

They are from a set of Token C28 wheels. No pics on my phone at the moment

I can, but it depends on the quality of the spokes (if it does not need to be replaced), also, whether the spoke count matches the hubs, 20 / 24.

I only see complete wheel sets Barry, thanks for the recommendation.

Southindustries.cc?
I have never imported wheels, there are some good deals on Chain reaction. what is the import duty on the wheels? e.g. Prime 50mm wheelset works out to be approx R6500, I think without VAT?
What bike shops sell carbon rims on its own?
I have ceramic bearing hubs to build a wheelset. I am looking for 50mm carbon rims with a rim brake surface.
Red flags?
This event clashes with Race to Sea 🙃
Someone on Tik Tok has provided excellent guidelines on how to deal with this particular scam, where an Uber driver is part and parcel in collecting the goods. These guidelines are applicable within South Africa's jurisdiction.
Out of interest, where and how was the bike stolen @cdreyer? Happy you recovered the bike!
Low balling!!
