I just can’t understand how they dropped Alviro for Jacques Rudolph. Alviro hasn’t done anything wrong in the games he played. I understand that Jacques has had a good season in the domestic game, but he just doesn't seem to be able to perform consistently at test level.

I managed to hookup with some guys this morning. Awesome trails you guys have here! I will probably ride again on Tuesday aswell.

The footage was awesome. I was just a little disappointed with the fact that they said nothing about the actual race. Its such a great event, I just think they could have promoted it slightly better.

Maybe I should bring both the MTB and the road bike. What distance do you guys normally do? I am looking at doing some nice long rides if possible.

Definately a rave!!!! I rode it this year. Its an awesome race. Lots of Single track, lots of climbing and lots of fun downhills. I can recommend this race to anyone. Day one is pretty though, but not ridiculous, day two seems flat in comparison. The boat ride across Spioenkop Dam on day one is awesome. On day 2 you get to do a zip line across the Tugela. Things like that definetly makes it more than just another race.

I have never been a Scott fan, but that is an awesome bike for the price!

Thanks I will keep it in mind. I did both the long route 94.7 and the road race and found the recovery ok. But the 50km MTB wasn't a very tough ride at all. So I am just trying to figure out if I will be able to do the same with the Argus. If the long route is 67km it might be pushing it a little though.

Somehow that extra 15km seems to make it very far.

Yeah thats the plan. To do both the MTB and road race. I am travelling all the way down to Cape Town so might aswell make the most of it and ride both.

I am looking at doing the Argus MTB race (52km) for the first time next year and was wondering how tough this race is. Is it very technical?

Those are hard to come by at the moment. The demand is really high. Try Westrand Cycles. I got one from them about 2 months ago. Good deal and great service.

My LBS (Westrand cycles) made a bracket for me from a piece of aluminium tubing. Unfortunately I don’t have a close-up picture but hopefully this gives you an idea. It is mounted on the Brake calliper. Works like a charm. Let me know if you would like me to take a better photo and post it.

Hoping to do number 2 in 2012. Did my first in 2010. Couldn't make it to this years one, but everything is already planned for next year. Can't wait!!

They Do!! But they are in a seperate inclosure. It should also be pretty safe. They are starting to build trails there shortly. Rode there a couple of weeks back with some friend and the guy that is organising is. It is going to be awesome. Keep a look out for an official launch closer to October.
