  1. Getting bored is the biggest problem as the other guys have said. But if you want to make it work and you get over the mental issue of it, IDT's are great. They make you strong as you have to work all the time.
  2. I know a guy that took the wrong turn and ended up doing about 70 km instead of 90km. He contacted Racetec and they moved his time to the 40km. Hopefully the rest of the guys do the same.
  3. I weight 84 and I normally pump my tyres (tubeless) 1.6 - 2.1. Depending on the terrain. Harder rear tyre gives you better/less rolling resistance. So sometimes I go much harder rear than the front.
  4. Thats really bad. Hope the guys from MTN recover soon.
  5. That sounds like a GREAT idea. Maybe I should also do that. A white ZULU. Man I wish!
  6. Wow, you are one lucky man. Enjoy the bike!!
  7. I agree with RudoJ. Cycle as much as you can now. Those first couple of month will be a big adjustment. Cycling will probably have to take a backseat for a while. But enjoy it. You can always cycle next year. You only have your children for a really sort time, so enjoy every moment.
  8. I had the same issue. Couldn't get rid of it.
  9. Took me over an hour to enter.
  10. I had a Cosmos. Not a very good frame though. 10-10. SRX group set. Man I loved that bike. Sold it to buy my first electric guitar.
  11. What absolute rubbish!!
  12. +1 GEAX all the way!!!!! Sagauro Front - Mezcal Back is the best ever!
  13. I spoke to one of the guys last week. Herman. He said that currently they are only open on Sundays 8am - 4pm.
  14. For me, it depends on the race. But I have found the more you race the less stressful it is. I have been doing at least 1 race a month this year, so now it is almost just like another day.
  15. It works like politics. The more rubbish you come up with the higher you go.
  16. If you can't revive and old thread. Create a new post with a subject that is similar to the old thread.
  17. I have also done it. You actually seem to fall harder if you are standing still. Or maybe the ego is just more hurt. I also have a couple of friend who have fallen with clipon pedals while standing still.
  18. I ride alone regularly on the road. On mountain bike I normally ride with a friend or two.
  19. It closed yesterday. I phoned them this morning trying to enter but was told they can't help me. There will be late entries though at the number collection venues at about R50 - R100 more. And no seeding!!
  20. That is not good. Hope she is ok. I cannot stand it when groups leave people behind. That is the reason for riding in a group. To ride TOGETHER!.
  21. Strange. We rode there once. The guys had lots of plans and seemed very keen to make it into a realy good MTB trail. But all of a sudden nothing.
  22. I know many threads have been started about how bad Cajees is, but my feeling lately is that one should rather do some investigation on what it is that you need and then buy from Cajees or Solomons because they generally give the best prices. If you do need help/advice get hold of someone like Johan or one of these guys that does bicycle servicing/maintenance by themselves. They have a lot more to loose from giving bad service than most of the LBS.
  23. I like you Mielies. And no not in that way. I also try and greet everyone on my training route and thanking cars that give me a gap. Would be great if everyone could do that. Maybe us roadies won't have such a bad reputation then. Or maybe it is just wishful thinking.
  24. Yes he is. It's SRAM. That is part of the trademark (on Red that is). They say it shifts better that way.
  25. No Problem, Enjoy. I am not feeling that well at the moment so just doing an easy ride at Northern Farms this weekend, but I will hopefully be there next weekend again.
