  1. Parts needed, especially the saddle clamp and the seatpost clamp/ wedge. Maybe someone crashed their frame and didn't replace it??
  2. Ceck out the Apple store for Cadence/ power/ speed sensors apps. See if it brings up anything?
  3. I assume that your watch measures your heart rate so you now need a speed & cadence device (or power & cadence). Unfortunately they don't come cheaply. Find out what devices will sync to your watch and make the purchase and away you go.
  4. Thanks to the kind Hubber who DM'd me. The box will be collected later this afternoon...
  5. Just bought a set of road wheels (without cassette) from a Hubber in Southern JHB area and we need a cardboard wheel box (as local bike shop has none). Will be much appreciated if you have one to give...?

    Polar V800

You can pick them up for between R1800 and R2500 (I have) preferably with a working stap and HRM (H1 or preferably H10). As a GPS tracker they are excellent (accurate) but it all depends on its secondhand condition. For running and triathlons the V800 still gives accurate readings with a chest strap. Watch based LEDs can be less accurate on heart rate. Newer watches have got newer software features so it's a toss up on which way you go. I had mine (V800 that I purchased new) conk on me but it was within it's warrantee so polar SA gave me a new one. Try allowing your watch to cool down before plunging it into cold water. The drop in temperature could cause a drop in the pressure inside the watch that could allow for water to enter the watch. Good luck with decision...
  7. Thanks for the advice Kranswurm. Bought the SLT01 on auction (6k). It was in mint condition underneath the dust. Quick spin...was so crisp on gear change and handling.
  8. Thanks for info. It seems like it's a great bike and not many are available second hand...that tells you something.
  9. If you're on Strava, check out the map for that area to determine possible routes (road or trail).
  10. Instead of MOANING,,, go to your SETTINGS and you can set RESPONSES (via email if that's your preference) to: ChatsMarketplace UpdatesUser FeedbackFavourited Items The reason that Bike Stuff doesn't always sell well is because most sellers are pretty well educated (in general) as to what their stuff is worth and are often try to get the maximum price that they can - COZ they are looking to invest in a new build or new bike! The buyers are also pretty well educated (in general) and don't want to pay top dollar!Plus most purchasers are going carefully with their money at the moment!PLUS most discerning BikeHub members have already got the bikes that they are happy with and don't particularly don't want to buy someone else's second/third hand (old geometry) bike that is being got rid of!!Good bargains are available but as stated by many other BikeHubbers - THEY GO QUICKLY.You snooze, you lose.I have bought some amazing stuff from BikeHub so BikeHub gets my A+ vote. But agree that for a Seller to not respond is just stupid!I will aways phone immediately if the phone number is offered.
  11. Swissvan: No the HV virus is a different virus to Cov-19. You acquire it through skin on skin contact with another who has an active virus on the skin/mucous membrane.
  12. BTW: some people are severely affected by the Herpes virus (fever blisters). They should supplement their food intake with L- Lysine (amino acid) to counteract the L-Arginine that is commonly found in some foods like nuts, chocolate, oats, corn, dates etc (that trigger an outbreak). Apricots are high in L-Lysine and should be eaten with the above foods to offset the negative effect or L-Lysine capsules can be taken. Hope this is helpful to some people...
  13. Last year the trails were OK... Some firebreaks (ploughing) through the forest upset some of the trails. Some trail sections made years ago have closed. Also a small trail at Mt. Splendor. I've also enjoyed the Sappi forest roads that follow after passing Ardmore accommodations (dust roads) leading up into the foothills. Use Strava to plot your path. Don't miss the catwalk section underneath the main road near the Nest Hotel...Enjoy...
  14. My HR device/straps can connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously (Polar H10) so can Zwift and log my ride to Polar off the one device. Not sure about Garmin HR devices...
  15. I've bought a few items from them. They stock mainly MTB cycle componentary. Wish they did road bike stuff too but unfortunately not...
  16. There is a 26km race up the Alps at 10:34 am. Planning to race this challenge route at the same time, if anyone else is keen. Did the 40km two days ago and that was a real killer! Prepare to be riding out the saddle...a lot.
  17. Just noted that the guy who won the race was pushing out an almost constant 5 watts per kg...didn't seem realistic
  18. Ossie, as I hadn't got my system working properly before I thought I'd run my two systems in parallel - PC & cell. Set everything up on my cell (and was in race watch mode on the PC) and kicked off the race and had the same view on both but during the ride the moving landscape hung on my cell (although the stats on the side kept working) so I was able to view my race (moving landscape) to the end on the PC image.
  19. Thanks for assistance guys. Got the indoor trainer to work with my cell (Bluetooth) and then opened Rouvy on my PC and followed the race, on the large screen, in the "watch" mode. Successful at last with all the sensors detected...
  20. I see there are two rides set for Saturday morning 6:30am and 7:00am...great stuff. Another ride at 10am tomorrow looks promising with a bunch of local chaps!
  21. Thanks for info SwissVan. Looks like my Desktop PC Bluetooth is handling things now, I think that's what my problem was. I'm in the process of downloading the CTCT ride (for next race).
  22. I was ready to ride but had too many last minute issues. Sorted some issues out later then rode a normal route and everything seems to be working...waiting to join your next race.
  23. My interface on PC is different to what you have described but I've registered for CTCT race tomorrow...hope I can ride it...
  24. Thanks Frosty, running it on PC. Will try your suggestions...
  25. I got my system working on a Bluetooth dongle that I picked up at a computer supplier for R159. Much cheaper that the Ant+ dongle cost!
