  1. The million dollar question is whether CSA has to fill out a similar form for its share of the bounty...
  2. I can't see KE's blog on the matter - was that removed too? would like to hear his side of the story.
  3. I have it on good authority that some Capies feel our analysis of the fast one was incomplete. They say there was not enough detail regarding: the number collection, the hot girls at number collection, the seeding issues, the lack of goody bags, the elite photo finish, teams in the A Bunch, they mystery of OB, the photos, the disappointments, the pot holes, Intern's great performance, the white-line issue, the power stats, the medals and the ride home. So for those guys and girls who haven't quite got their Fast One fix yet, here's a thread for you

    wasp gels...

Pornstar, Dischem Norwood doesn't have your Pepto Pro gels. I bought a Kiwi but ended up not using it yesterday. Rode the race and back to the start on proper, solid food. Entirely celibate the whole way, too!
  5. Yep, judging by that group, BS and MK can be glad they're good on the MTB... Looks like they have yet to graduate from the sandpit. "Big shnose switched me, so I switched him back and then he told on me" I wonder what their sponsor thinks of this FB group...
  6. Even without hearing KE's version of events, BS's own story is a little suspect? BS says he was trying to catch KE's wheel. Not pass it. The only way you can get switched is if your front wheel is ahead of the dude in front's back wheel. Unless KE pulled brakes, in which case it's a different story. And wouldn't a more appropriate response be for BS to ask KE why the hell he did what he did?
  7. Bwahahaha what would cycling be without the beast from the east? The man's a legend! As for the white line issue, only way to solve it is to be pragmatic. Bruce's idea could work. Or maybe the organisers could force the licenced riders to race a long crit with full road closure near the finish where they can gutter to their hearts content, while the exhausted weekend warriors spectate.

    wasp gels...

If you want caffeine, why not pick up some regmakers at the local pharmacy. They're dirt cheap and have about 50mg per tablet, which is the same as most goos. I think the Whasp you're talking about has 100mg.

    Lapierre bikes

Fd Jeux (sp?) used to ride Lapipi in the tour. Ian Mcleod's old team. They are good bikes. Got a famous win in 2007 when one of their riders (his name escapes me; I've been inhaling silicone) won a TDF stage in a long breakaway. He'd hit a dog earlier in the stage and ripped his shorts, dispaying a grazed ass. Michael Boogerd was in the break. Anyway the FdJeux dude led the sprint out and he managed to catch the others napping. WAs a great win. THink it was the team's only stage win that tour. Was near the end of the tour, after the Chicken had been booted.
  10. JB, I think the Allen you're refering to was actually Alan. My mate had an alu Alan. Like you describe, it was lugged and the tubes were steel diameter. Ah the good old days. I think wannabearacer is referring to these okes: http://www.allenbikes.com/index.php?pr=Triathlon_Bikes
  11. Johan Bornman had a cool stand when I was at him the other day. It looked like a home made job and it supports the bike by the BB and the fork (you have to take the wheel out. Looks like a very good design, because you can exert a lot of pressure around the BB area. And you can pedal and adjust gears without any fear of the bike moving. It looked like it would be fairly simple to make, although I probably wouldn't have the patience.
  12. ? yup' date=' like the ones they use on tandems. here's some pics of mine. ? https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=33539&KW=alice&PN=3[/quote'] Thanks Holy. I'm considering putting a front V-brake on my CX bike. Think it'll help?
  13. CX bikes typically don't have any suspension. The frame and fork has extra space for thick tyres and special bosses for cantilever brakes. The problem with building a MTB with drop bars is that STI levers do not pull enough cable for V-brakes. You will need to get a special adaptor or get cantilever brakes.
  14. That would be the same as Iran recognising Israel's right to exist! PPA is a non-profit entity, supposedly for the benefit of the cyclists. Yet one of its directors has a financial interest in WT. Conflict? Surely it is to the cyclists' benefit for PPA to recognise CC?
  15. Bwahahaha! I was there this morning. I think there is something terribly wrong with the computer system of the Winning Time/PPA cartel. They wanted to seed me in D even though I came in the top 20 overall last year! After pointing this out to the lady there, she asked her computer again and it spat out a B. Why do I feel embarrassed trying to explain that I'm faster than B? I held my ground and eventually she agreed to "manually override" the computer. The funniest was Grey Owl. They seeded him R! He was telling the assistant: "I've raced two road world championships and you want to see me R!" She just looked blankly back at him. Simon, I hope you came right with a re-seeding.
  16. I haven't got my sms yet. Should I be worried?
  17. Clearly their posts are sarcastic.
  18. Hahaha, you guys have a fine sense of sarcasm
  19. Eben, this topic, started by you, is cloaked as a warning to fellow hubbers to check what is in their medicine. But you have not told us what medicine you were prescribed. Share the name with us, please! Who knows how many other hubbers have the same muti in their cabinets? We must all throw it away forthwith!
  20. I started out wanting to believe Eben, but the evidence that has come to light subsequent to his first post has swung my vote. Eben, you came on here to justify your positive result, but since doing that some very pertinent questions have arisen, and it would be wise for you to address them. I'd like to offer a summary, if I may: - What medicine were you prescribed? - How much ephedrine does this med contain per mililitre? - When was it prescribed to you? - When did you take your most recent dose before doing Bakwena? - Did you take the dosage prescribed by the doctor? - Considering that ephedrine lasts in your system only a few days, does this mean you were sick when you did Bakwena? - If so, how were you able to achieve such a good result, while sick? - Are Babbelkous's allegations true? - Did you drink lots of water prior to the test to dilute your urine? - You've come on here to clear your name. It would help if we could see a copy of the prescription. Are you willing to post it here? Anything I've left out?
  21. right
  22. I see ephedrine must be present in a quantity of more than 10 micrograms per mililitre of urine. So even if it was a "small quantity" it was greater than what the rules allow.
  23. I propose a change in name to Team Cough Syrup
