  1. Cancellara 1:09 ahead of Martin at second check!!!
  2. I have had mine for roughly 3 years now. Originally bought it for a Peugeot hatch and currently use it on my Subaru. Have also used it on various other cars. Very sturdy and as you say very adjustable. As always with this type of rack, take very good care when loading bikes (especially 3) and make sure that no bits are touching or might be once you start moving...Very happy with mine!

    2012 Ironman

Agree, I had to check my 'markers' alot more on the 2nd lap than the first. Also felt like I was going nowhere at times. Remember that last stretch to the beach...kept looking at the pier and it just didn't seem to move!

Yip, its the guy who normally races with his son who has cerebral palsy. Paul Wolff didn't want him to ride the bike with him(too dangerous) but they did finish together, finished pushing his son along just before I dragged myself across the line.

    2012 Ironman

Thanks!!! My cousin manned one of the rescue boats. He reckons that about 100 people didn't finish the swim, some being pulled by the boats and others just walking out after the 1st lap. There were some people who missed the cut-off as well. I was amased at the number of bikes still in the racks after I passed transition during my first bike lap. From what I could gather it was the slowest swim and bikes for the pro's on record. The support along the route was amazing considering the weather.

    2012 Ironman

Was my 1st one and what an initiation into the world of triathlon!!! Swim went ok but the 2nd lap was really rough, loads of people pulled from the sea... Bike was really tough against a gale SW wind, was doing 7km/h up some of the hills. Left knee took serious strain. Furthest I've run before this was one 40km. Left knee 'went' on first run lap and I dragged myself along the course. It was super cold and with the wind driving the rain along. Managed to cross the finishline in 15.50. Definately the medal I've worked the hardest for in my life!!! Well done to each and everyone who finished!

I don't look at the weather forecast. Nothing you can do about it in any case. It only stresses you out or give you false hope...Get up on Sunday and race what you get. Starting to get that excited/nervous feeling now...

    2012 Ironman

At least I don't have to worry about trying to 'work out' my time, first triathlon for me
  21. Didn't we have some cornbread at the first waterpoint last year? Hopefully the organisation is as good as last year, don't think Craig is very involved this time around.
  22. As you say, always fun riding in the rain. Think it will be better to start with as I don't think they've had as much rain beforehand as last year. That mud clogging up the wheels was just insane!!! Will be interesting to see how the 'new' route rides. Just looking forward to a good day out on the mtb!!!
  23. Have entered the 90. Weather forecast looking good so far, last year was the muddiest ride I've ever done!!!
