  1. I can tell you all for certain, it is NOT Bloemfontein
  2. Anatomic up north, sure they will all be able to assist electronically though.
  3. John, can't recall, have you done the 7 or is it not something you are aiming for?
  4. Ek dink Tumbleweed / Holy Roller het 'n paar meer...

    2012 Ironman

Thanks, thats what I'm looking at doing. Enjoy the day and cross the line before cutoff...Obviously have a goal in mind according to my training times but I'm relaxed about it.

    2012 Ironman

At least I don't have to worry about trying to 'work out' my time, first triathlon for me
  8. Didn't we have some cornbread at the first waterpoint last year? Hopefully the organisation is as good as last year, don't think Craig is very involved this time around.
  9. As you say, always fun riding in the rain. Think it will be better to start with as I don't think they've had as much rain beforehand as last year. That mud clogging up the wheels was just insane!!! Will be interesting to see how the 'new' route rides. Just looking forward to a good day out on the mtb!!!
  10. Have entered the 90. Weather forecast looking good so far, last year was the muddiest ride I've ever done!!!

    2012 Ironman

Attempting my first Ironman (actually first triathlon) this year. Looking to finish and just enjoy the day. Training have been going well (reaching my personal goals) and might actually go for a sub-13, which would be equal to a new course record if I was Raynard Tissink ...
  12. It all depends on your budget, but for the type of riding you will be doing a hardtail will do fine. Maybe look at the Silverback Stride 10, they go for R4100-R4400, I don't think you'll find better components at that price level on a new bike.
  13. Agree with 'Dale, for entry level either one will do the job bang for buck wise. When I started bought an entry level Bell, bought a Giro for my girlfriend, not much difference.
  14. Thanks for the advice guys, will give the Asics a look.
  15. I need to replace my current pair of Nike Air Zoom Vomero's. They were bought a couple of years back(more like 5) and I've put about a 1000km's of running into them. Looking for a pair of neutral shoes. What would you guys recommend?
  16. One thing they've got going for them is value for money. I just bought my girlfriend the Stride 10(entry level bike but fine for the type of riding she will be doing) and there is nothing else in that spec that is close price-wise. I've had my Silverback Sierra for 2.5 years now and very happy. You won't go wrong.
  17. Ouch, think he will end up with his toes under his heel...
  18. There is a little puff of smoke where this guy's shoe hit the tar!!! Or is that still lingering from the tyre?
  19. Depends on what you want to use the tent for...I prefer Mountain Hardwear, they cover anything from 2/3 season suitable for SA to 5 season high altitude stuff. Used the Trango 2 above 6000m and it withstood a SERIOUS thunderstorm with extreme winds and cold comfortably. They are a bit heavy but bomb proof. Also look at EV tents.
  20. Great result! My legs really felt the mtb race during the first 10km or so on Sunday and then especially on the last 20km with the 'hills'.
  21. Thats a good time riding from J!!! Nope, I rode from D. 'Mansgenoeg deur Jesus' kit, grey with a red cross on it, riding a silver Rellie You might have ridden with/away from some of the other guys from our 'club'.
  22. What group,we might have ridden together? Also did a 3.04 on the road and managed a 2.45 for the mtb. Legs a bit sore today...
