  1. how did that happen? well my "hang onto frame" elastic thingy broke so i had to be inventive so electrical tape it is
  2. ok i have so far been lucky not to get a puncture (or i have but my beloved dr sludges have saved me) and the one thing i am always freaking out about is standing on the side of the rd and not be able to pump up my tyre to the right pressure....so a very caring friend of mine gave me his spare bomb adaptor so i got one and i carry it with on races (only mtb ones so far) but my pump is stuck to my bike anyway i have been a complete idiot in the last 2 weeks as i have forgotten everything either in the car or at home or somewhere else and ended up praying to the cycling god to spare me from a puncture.....
  3. me too this morning some pretty girl in a corsa in front of me, was so worried bout how she looks she almost drove onto the pavement 5 times in 2km distance.....like who gives these people licences???
  4. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> or the poor a$$ behind you thanx to the cyclelab guy in the A bunch riders that caugh up to me on Sun....he made me the poor a$$ and i don't know how i managed to finish the race without being sick....
  5. Well I am 1.6m tall and currently 54kg....that sometimes moves down to 52 but due to the enourmous ammount of muscle I have put on doesn't stay there long
  6. sorry HR....I only "heard" this today......so what exaclty am i hearing?
  7. with the possibility to sound bitchy I do think you're a guy so what ladies saddle do you use? I have never personally had to choose a girlfriend so I might not get that comparison too well
  8. thinks it's a bit more than rumours though...
  9. i know i know
  10. mushroom farm looks like it became the epicentre of the gautrain....never went there beforehand so dont know how big it actually was... the problem i think with those places is that they are not secure that's what was good with mintek - it was in an enclosed area they are building a park by me but i don't think i'd like to ride there at night anyway....
  11. and where did you get your spare chain links flatdog?
  12. So I did an hour last night with my new saddle. I do not think it is enough for me to make a statement but so far nothing to complain bout.....except that it's new and it's super smooth so I felt like I was sliding all over the place. Might play musical saddles and change it to the rd one for my first ride on sat just to see how it behaves during a longer distance and more climbing.... And then I think I might vote on my own poll
  13. i must say sorry....i was busy reading the arione topic when i decided to start this topic and didn't realise i was in the classifieds section.....oops
  14. Well my limit was about R700-750 but I bought one already - the fizik vitesse as i mentioned above. I scored that for R650..... I decided to ask the question anyway as on the other forum the pink arione went to a lady.....
  15. hahaha mampara no I didn't break it....although i have worn it out a bit.... and i put the new one on the mtb and your one on the rd....if i can keep it for a bit more....So still gonna do the race on a familiar saddle..
  16. my choice was made easier as the agent didn't have my "size" in the specialized and my hip bones were crying too loud for me to ignore them so....
  17. So for the last 2 weeks or so I wondered which one to go with. I purchased the Fizik Vitesse (309g) as I didn't see how a white saddle would go on my MTB plus it was way cheaper.... In my hunt I was told (and never mind measured for one) that the Specialized Jet is the bomb.....Do sales people speak the truth or do they make up stories bout their girlfriends loving a specific ladies item??? I wonder... 3rd Option was the Selle Italia but that fell a bit out of my budget for the moment. So do the ladies out there ride with ladies specific saddles? A mate and I tried to remember what saddles the ladies we know ride with but no success and at the end I am giving it a try with the Fizik. No ladies saddles are available to test so I went with the shop that stocks both (my 1 & 2 choices) and actually allows swapping, so if I do not like the Fizik the Specialized might get a chance....
  18. Doh! I'm off this forum for months' date=' and within days I'm stepping on someone's toes...wonder if this would be a skill I can put on my CV. Anyway, I was merely putting my 2 cents worth down. I eat badly and have the same habits as described by racman (except I eat like a pig), but I've definitely noticed differences in weight if I cut something out of the diet or change it significantly. anyway.... I apologise for offence caused to all. Will leave you scientific folk alone to discuss this. bye[/quote'] I don't know bout stepping on toes but I totally agree with you. My friend was laughing at me for worrying that I'll suffer at some race cos I had eaten a ton of cr@p that week. I suppose it is a very personal thing how junk food affects you but I know that it affects me big time. Yesterdays chelsea bun and tab did no wonders at my race let me tell you that much...
  19. You keeping tabs on my races? nope
  20. Just because a person is fat doesn't make him/her slow. I've seen some really skinny people battle to ride even 1km. Sure fitness isn't determined by the shape of a person but this isn't the point here. If they were faster they wouldn't come in the way, same as skinny people Similar as someone not believing I can be stronger than them just because I am a girl At the end of the day whomever trains harder becomes stronger and produces better results. The point here is if you cannot produce good results stay at the back.....fat, skinny, old or young Believe me I got plenty of examples for any one of those that kick my @ss ....
  21. it's not only me... a few people complained bout it yesterday.....the leaders get up ahead and there is no way to jump over all the fat okes in a timely fashion so that you can catch up I have started up ahead before and believe me it makes all the difference in the world.....but I am also not rude (at races that is.....rudeness is like a natural thing for me being european and all otherwise ) so I am not gonna tell some big guy I think he will die on the first climb so why doesn't he move to the back....
  22. you'd be surprised what little competition can do and believe me I aint exaclty riding at a appreciate the scenary speed either.... What I'm trying to get across is that instead of always trying to catch people' date=' why don't you let them try catch you for a change?[/quote'] because i can't get to the start on time it seems
