  1. or maybe powermeters for consistency
  2. sales must be down
  3. I could only manage a 4:40 on my MTB and after the Nissan Van Gaalens race I was scared of dehydration so maybe I overdid it.
  4. Did the 94.7 yesterday with 32Gi. Took a bottle of 32GI 30 minutes before the race and had another bottle 2 hours 30 minutes into the the race, only drank water during the race. My energy levels where fine, only thing I felt very bloated at the end.
  5. Marketing people call it the "Illusion of Truth" effect. We judge things to be true based on how often we hear them, we like familiarity, and repeating something often enough makes it familiar to us. Every advertiser knows this. Link: Illusion of truth effect
  6. I see what you did there...
  7. My ride
  8. Yip Cwcycles is awesome. I am situated in JHB and whenever I order from Cwcycles I get my order the next day.
  9. I like the Stumpjumper. Just out of interest, if you are going to go hard-tail why not look at a 29er?
  10. x2 Morningside Cycles.
  11. x 2
  12. Have to agree the 40km was absolutely awesome, something for everyone! Will definitely do it again next year.
  13. +1 I run at about 1.6 front (monorail) & about 2 bar at the back (crossmark), I weigh 80kg.
  14. Good luck and enjoy!
  15. From the reviews I have read on the net it seems that 29ers roll better than 26ers over bumpy terrain but that these slight pros balance out with the cons, such as weight and slower acceleration.
  16. To be honest I think that the 29er vs 26 argument means nothing if your a recreational rider... A slow rider is still slow, like MBP said "It's the indian not the arrow". From all the reviews I have read it seems that 29ers roll better than 26ers over bumpy terrain but that these slight pros balance out with the cons, such as weight and slower acceleration.
  17. I have a Yeti ASR-5 and I love it, but at the end of the day it really comes down to you and what you like (and off-course how much money you have to spend on the components). If you are situated in JHB phone the guys at Morningside Cycles and organize yourself a test-drive and see if you like it or not.
