  1. We actually stood to one side to let the stars bunch pass, with the intention of crossing the timing mats with the "E" bunch. The two race tec guys told us it is ok to go through, even after we explained the result would be cooked. Damm.. Another funride shot to hell.. Hells hoogte was fun though. Respect to you Dale.
  2. @crashtestdummy Can you believe this dude? Perhaps he thinks a "name and shame" approach will help us curb our evil, cheating ways? Oh well, its been awhile since I saw my name in print. Or on a computer screen. Maybe 3rd degree will ask to interview us? "3rd Degree breaks Local Funride Cheating Scandal!"
  3. Dude! You just posted my name on a public forum to bring disrespect to me, before doing your homework and obtaining the facts. Take it up with Racetec and tell them to teach their staff not to let riders through if they are late. We explained that our times would be faster; to which they (the Racetec Officials) replied "No we still get a "Block" starting time of the "C" bunch, and told us to go through. I have just emailed Racetec, explaining, in full, the facts you were not privvy to. I have also asked them to rectify the reult. Don't post names before you have the facts. Thanks and have a nice day.
  4. Yes I was one of the guys the Race tec people waved through; even after we had explained that our times would be wrong. As in cheatinf wrong. They said not to worry, we still get a "block' starting time for the C group. Anyway that is not the case, and have just emailed Racetec to rectify the result. Respect to ya all.
  5. Hey a buddy of mine at work calls it the same thing (Black Label). Says it is the name that upcountry people call the beer?
  6. Circle Cycles in Fish Hoek - phoned at 9am monday morning. Took the bike in at ten am. Chris re-fitted a rear deralier cable and set the gears. Got the bike back at 11am. Now that is service!!
  7. I ride a KHS 900 and love the thing! Very comfortable, very responsive, good tracking around corners. A friend reackons it handles very closley to the specialised S works. Buy one, you will not be sorry.
  8. Yeah glad it was not worse! Sh8t thing to experience. Hope your wounds heal soon.
  9. Black Label Cans. Black Label Quarts. Black Label Bottles. Maybe this is why I cant win The Argus. Also that I am the kakkest rider on the hub. But I am drunk half the time so I don't care.
  10. any news on the guy that went down into the gutter near smits?
  11. I like riding in the Parden Eilend section of the lanes; it reminds me of a backdraught experiance I had awile back. Well anyway, if you can handle the glass.. the trollies.. the swearing.. the robbers.. (in that Industrial Section..) the stop/start riding.. well then that section of the lanes rock! Hey its better than getting sucked under the wheels of a truck (ACT OF GOD?!?) Seriously?
  12. Dudes I am a Profesional Fireman (as in I earn my income fighting fires) which is intself, quite tough. So to get away from that stress and that world I ride a bike. If the wind made you go back to sleep this am, well, ya missed out man!
  13. Holy sheet!! I am just checking out the lakeside mountain and the clouds are thick and mean over the edge!! Bad winds!!
  14. good to know you ok dude!
  15. Perhaps one of the best ways to commit a murder, and get away with it, is to hit and kill someone with a motor vehicle.
  16. Got a similar prob - fitted a new chain today (road bike). No jumping, no climbing, nice crisp shifts. All well on the bike stand. But.. when I ride it there is a grating sound when the chain is in the small chainring, expecially when climbing. it dissapears in the big chain ring so not a BB issue (or a rear cassette issue??) Any thoughts?? maybe I must just ride till the new chain matches the small 39 chainring.. or till the sucker snaps!
  17. Insulation tape...
  18. Why does Bicycling magazine advertise cars? (rhetorical)
  19. lotsa emotions at an MVA scene. Like the driver said we all make mistakes. But you know what??? In my 18 years of experiance of impacts between a car and a human body it is always the human body that looses out. So... Dude (read driver of car, any car,) your vehicle, and your driving mistakes, can kill.
  20. Where I work there are many snakes. Some would like to bite you where the sun don't shine. Otheres might prefer a more subtle snack; balls is allways a welcome adition. These are not allways female snakes. Balls are apparantly more apatising than we might have thought. The lesser spotted trouser snake is perhaps the most aggresive of all snakes; when confronted with one of these it is best to make loud lapping sounds in the hope that the beast might go away.
  21. Sheet! Glad to hear they did not get the bike. Heal well Tank.
