Food is generally enough the water points are very good I occasionaly had to buy a burger and chips as well on long days

Rim tape is not expensive Use stans valves the ones (Mavic I think) with a square rubber base are *** and leak tape will also be lighter

Bottom line is what does the frame weigh?

With a carbon fork it means nothing not really that light

Changing groupset is not going to make you any faster Take the cheapest option

Interesting I am planning a 3 day trip to learn about travelling light stay B&B etc My max weight will be 4kg baggage excl usual tubes pump etc swimming shorts light tracksuit pants light jacket Light slops/shoes spare socks supplements/energy drink toiletries washing powder credit card cash I may take extra cycling shorts

I have seen that bike You are basically buying a frame and fork the other parts and wheels on that specific bike arent great Even so it is a good deal I personally would need to spend another 15 on it and maybe sell the current parts for 5 and it would be a very nice bike for 25k just my 2c

I say BS Tell me who they are

Training indoors is no good it just helps through winter You need to get out on your bike and do lots of base and then lots of climbing and then lots of back to back days You need to do a few back to back 5-7 Hour rides as well as that is at least how long you will be out there most days Dont worry about the profile ride from one water point to the next and break it up makes it much easier mentally.

Nice When I did the Joberg2C the sound of the Robinson buzzing around over us reminded me of Angola with the Alloutte Gunships overhead all that was missing was the sound of the 20mm Guns Those who have never seen one when fired the recoil would push the chopper sideways when fired They were firece weapons and extremely accurate

I have done Epic and J2c this year Personally I would ride Epic on a 26" Softail and J2c on a 29er One of the things I did see is if you hit a tree stump flat out with a Niner it breaks

Put it in your luggage You can also hide it on your person and hope they dont do a cavity search

I also battled with Mavic 317 with non UST Tyres I put on Crossmark Lust and it works a treat
