  2. First tape your chain stay with insulation tape and then wrap the tube over the tape to prevent the moisture and dirt that gets in from scuffing the chain stay
  3. Also look out for groupsets and wheels etc going at a good price We are always weary of bargain bike but will eagerly snap up components at a bargain price

  10. So much better to be on 2 wheels than caged in!
  11. Big H I want to come to Namibia and Angola Later this year or early next year, I basically want to go to Ongiva and to the bridge where you guys are working, and left across to the coast and down to Ruacana and back to Nam. What are the requirements do we need a Visa for Angola and is it difficult to obtain, availability of petrol as we will be on Motorbikes. Looking on Google it looks like the road from Ondangwa to the border is now Tarred (would prefer dirt roads) Hijack Off
  12. Start a Facebook group "Gareth Cliff is a ****" There is a great one "Danny K is a ****" on Facebook When U have more members to the group than he has freinds ask him to join, dont make it cycling specific as a lot of people generally think he is a w**ker.
  13. You need a range from 4Nm to abut 25Nm It is a good idea to have a small torque wrench for this most are roughly R1000 The one from pickatool is from 40nm -210 if you want to tighten cassettes and BB's you will need another torque wrench as well Shimano cassetes are 50Nm

  16. Compact is nicer for very hilly rides like Nelspruit Area and if you tend to spin rather than grind a big gear as well as weight Zipp Vuka is probably the nicest at the moment
  17. Thanks I am trying to find the results from the weekend I also cant find the results from KZN a week ago
  18. What is the website address for Central gauteng track
  19. Guilty or not he has been coming to SA for many years now and everyone who has met him on the road or in person has only had good things to say about Jan. I'm still afan of the Kaiser On a lighter note I have been thinking of offering him a ride as my domestique for club and league rides seen as though no one else has made offers!
  20. That Rock racing kit is awesome - very intimidating
  21. The rest of the year I never pay to travel with my bike except for Nationwide that is I dont fly with them.
  22. mmmm So what you are saying is that the perfect bike will weigh 6.8kg be aerodynamic as possible have the lightest most aero wheels and lightest crank and pedals as possible. "Some people just dont get it" Then I am afraid you can not upgrade your frame there are no options Zipp Crank Speedplay pedals KCNC BrakesSL-C2008-02-22 00:51:32
  23. There is a few wholesalers and shops trying to justify the ridiculous margins they are used to charging. As industry changes and we become more a part of the global economy business has to adapt to the changes instead of spreading pathetic rumours. We cant get stock yet of the R-Sys wheelset from the distributor(according to LBS) but I can get them in 4 - 6 Days approx R4K Cheaper than projected price. With the exchange rate weakening it now brings huge oppurtunities for grey imports as the distibutor wants his 25 -30% and LBS wants at least 30% add it up. I know of at least 2 other Discount/Grey importers in the process of setting up shop. Only one way to get rid of grey imports cut prices
  24. Doug You should know reciprotaing parts have a 2 to 1 ratio in other words taking 100grams off your crank wheels etc is the same as taking 200grams off your frame.
  25. We have far to many Funrides and it gets a bit expensive going to them. I personally am not interested in the argus or any of the big Funrides as the racing is quite pathetic. (What was your Argus Time) I have found that league and club races as well as some of the smaller races have far better quality of racing and they are usually much harder. I am fairly confident that the new Vets Super series will do a lot to revive real racing again, Looking at all the teams when this gets off the ground it will be far more exciting than elite racing.
