  1. Thanks for the heads up.
  2. Just watch it on Tiz cycling, fast, easy and decent quality. Its also pretty cheap.
  3. More likely will attack with 800m to go.
  4. Someone tried to run us over at a red light in his defender and we asked where he wanted to go, then got a whole bunch of fingers and frothing. 2 hours later he was fighting for his life in hospital after wrecking his car. Not sure if its a good outcome, but one less loony trying to run people over out of hate.
  5. Many cities are already banning them, its going to take time but people are getting tired of hearing about people being killed by vehicles that should never be in city centres.
  6. Probably find not much ever entered her mind.
  7. Scary to think that there are so many people that do not understand the highway code and that dont believe slowing down is ever an answer. Bigger question is why are HGV that size even allowed city centres any more, they should be taxed out of existence.
  8. Just make him pay for the beers after the ride and it will be all worth it.
  9. America always ends up with these high profile man hunts across states. This reads like the plot of a CSI episode.
  10. You are looking at the KOM holder of those historic back road cobbles, its just a little "little" when the longest one is 380 meters long...
  11. Agreed!! Fish Hoek Main road was basically like the Arenberg Forest Paris Roubaix. Now, the DA got that strip resurfaced 2 weeks ahead of schedule and is now like riding most trails in Conties, super smooth. If we want to replicate a bit of Roubaix now, we have to ride to Simons Town where the new shopping centre is or past the entrance to Cape Point. They have EVEN started resurfacing the horse tracks in Constantia and adding CURBS! Next they going to add street lights. There are just fewer and fewer places for practicing this lost art, thanks a lot DA.
  12. Trying to go through the thread and see if the Savage that did it on an eBike has commented yet...
  13. Love how it was not even the red bull F1 team that were involved, only the marketing department of Red bull.
  14. Think the issue are the eScooters zooming along, they just get put with bikes as the issue.
  15. For once common sense prevails. Now how about the 2 ton vehicles doing 50km/h down beach road, maybe time to remove one of those six lanes for a bike lane
  16. Whats a few extra road gaps Cookie?
  17. The cables normally enter the frame at that spot from the outside. Excuse the disc brakes.
  18. For the Cannondale Supersix there is space at the front of frame for the front brake line if you are that way inclined to put disc brakes on a road bike. If you dont have discs, you can use this space to route your gear cables through this and into the frame. To do this however, one requires a cable stop somewhere, so 3D printed a cable stop where the junction box normally goes. Had a Savage 3D print these up for us, we have been through 3 versions and this one has now lasted 9 months, but I see it starting to crack a little. Will replace with a new one when re do the cables at next services. This was version 1, we have changed print direction and the depth of the stop. Its a littel tricky but you can see the routing. Pretty sure I was trying to get the cable out the BB here. End result: no visible cables. Apologies for no NSFW warning...
  19. Ride to event and back could be a good day out
  20. The whole point is, until there are no more articles like this or there start to be articles like this about cyclists all road safety campaigns and policing should be 100% on drivers and zero on cyclists and pedestrians. https://www.thesouthafrican.com/news/three-killed-horrific-accident-parktown-johannesburg-breaking/ 6 people dead in 2 days. Show me a cyclist doing that. There were 5 innocent lives there gone. But yes, lets moan on and on about cyclists rolling through a red light with nobody around or riding 2 abreast. That will stop the blood shed on the roads. Wait, maybe if cyclists obeyed every traffic law, even when nobody is around drivers will stop killing people every day in retaliation.
  21. Agreed. None of this, "now another person who has a bad perception of cyclists nonsense" Its clear and proven daily that a cyclists actions have zero bearing on drivers actions, this whole notion of obey the rules or die is bollocks. If you drive a 2 ton killing machine its your responsibility not to kill people while operating it. Drivers have the worst "rap" when it comes to road use, they keep killing people every day, but that is socially acceptable. But a random cyclist rolling through a red light when there are no other people around, that is not socially acceptable.
  22. Found myself spitting out debris etc every 5 min from my mouth on Sunday.. yuck
  23. Sounded like was riding along with a metro rail train all day...
  24. 2. Where do you drive? The UK?
