    Agreed. None of this, "now another person who has a bad perception of cyclists nonsense" Its clear and proven daily that a cyclists actions have zero bearing on drivers actions, this whole notion of obey the rules or die is bollocks. If you drive a 2 ton killing machine its your responsibility not to kill people while operating it. Drivers have the worst "rap" when it comes to road use, they keep killing people every day, but that is socially acceptable. But a random cyclist rolling through a red light when there are no other people around, that is not socially acceptable.

    Interesting looking at the numbers of eBike finishers. 109km normal 2631 women. 17,48% of field. ( I also added pro ladies) 109km ebikes: 119 women. 35,73% of the field. I think 3:50 is a good bench mark. Thats just a little slower than my 66 year old mother can do, so it about right. Although, the eBikes are much more fair weather riders. only 333 this year compared to the 707 in October. compared to the 15448 finishers now vs 11848 in October.

    I am not sure if they just did not post the eBikes times lower than 3:50 but wow there was some fine lines for that top spot!!

    What a joke. "Claimed risk of bikes hitting pedestrians" with no actual evidence of these being reported. Yet, the road 65m away, there have been many car accidents and cars hitting cyclists. How about they remove cars from beach road then if the city is worried about making the place safer.

    With the release of the Pfizer side effects and the high mortality rate from the jab I doubt the numbers are going to go anywhere soon.

    I ride the boys to school, there are a handful of other kids that ride in. We pass other kids that are pulling out of their drive way and then pass them while they sit in ques. It boggles my mind that drivers have such a "must get in front mentatlity" that they will over take a 6 year old, just to jump on the brakes and sit, then have the audacity to complain when he rides past them and bumps their car by mistake because they have left no space.

    The MTB ones also have those broomsticks for handlebars. Its like the MTBer with 800mm bars rocking up in the $ group, no thought to the other 400 riders he has to ride around. I could also rock up on a fixie with no brakes and keep up, do I do it, no as I dont want to ruin other people's day.

    My wife did not even fetch me, she only met me at the hospital. My whole family was there actually as nephew was being born!
