  2. Well I probably won't enter sabie experience this year, so I hope they gain another rider to make up for it.
  3. Are we able to ride the course on the morning before racing starts?

    Delta Park

It does, I think the start is 18:45. I can't remember, so maybe you should confirm with them. Its really good fun though.
  5. I'm quite disappointed regarding both! I agree I want more of a challenge.
  6. Trying a new product on a 24 hour race... sounds like a fantastic idea *sarcasm. The golden rule is don't try something new in a race.
  7. That's clearly the costing model they use. And I do kinda get it, especially with the online shopping. If I buy a part from the LBS, they will normally install it for free. If I bring them a part I bought online, then they will charge. The way I see it, they give you a special rate on the build if you buy the stuff through them. Why don't you check out CRC, I heard the custom wheel builds are pretty good. Edit - wow, I guess I was slow replying.
  8. What I don't get is why certain individuals go and spit on someone's car!! I mean seriously, WTF! I would be pissed too. So if someone hoots why don't you smile and wave. The driver would feel better and so would you, get on about your day. I would be SO embarrassed if someone I was riding with did that, no matter what the reason is.
  9. +1000000000
  10. Kona Kula - the scandium one comes in at about 1200g for the M. Just to add, my medium Merida HFS weighs 1550g
  11. R130-R150 odd. I suppose it could be as much as R200. but more than that and I would be unhappy
  12. I had a great race and enjoyed it a lot. Unfortunately I lost the leading bunch when there was a pile up in some sand, coming off the tar road after the bridge. Still got a great result. I thought the route marking was excellent, and the vibe good too.
  13. I'm afraid I disagree with you here bud. Mostly the law is spelt out to the letter, and the English interpretation of something is very valid. So if the definition is "a person travelling by foot" then the legal interpretation is "a person travelling by foot". Simple right? Also, if you take the time to actually go through the Acts, I bet you it will be spelt out very clearly. That's why they are so long and boring to read. Soon you will say that you are a pedestrian driving a car, and therefore have the right to drive on the pavement too?? As an aside, lawyers often get people off cut and dry cases due to procedural issues that aren't followed correctly
  14. Hey king, Did you set it to take still every couple seconds? If so what are the gaps?
  15. With specific components, mtbr.com is always useful.
  16. jungle oats, dark chocolate or berry
  17. I dont know if this is a stupid question: Can we use SAS number boards? On the online entries it asks for racetec and championchip numbers... are either of these the same as the SAS number boards? Thanks
  18. I would not wash and hope for them to dry by the next day. That has disaster written all over it.
  19. I go for the food first. You should eat within 30min of finishing.
  20. I don't know about sani2c, but at joberg2c we got bags that I could (and did) fit inside!!!
  21. I have tried 2 elite trainers and liked them both. Its not the same model as the one you are looking at though. If I remember it works like this: Magnetic - quiet-medium noise, resistance increases linearly with speed (which I don't have a problem with, but apparently its less realistic) Air resistance - very noisy, resistance increases similar to how it would on the road (double the speed is 4 times the power, or something (cant remember my physics right now) Fluid - Best of both - quiet and similar to on the road. You will also need a trainer tyre for your mtb. The knobblies are very noisy and wear down quickly. My advice, get a cheap spare wheel that will be your trainer wheel. Its easier changing wheels rather than changing tyres (especially if you run tubeless)! First prize for me is I managed to scrape together enough old parts to have a dedicated trainer bike. The less hassle it is for me the less chance I'll make an excuse. I have either music or tv on while I train. Animation movies or heavy music are my best.
  22. A lot further progressed, IMO. If they did R&D on something worth while rather than forcing everyone to go 10-speed for example, then we would have better bikes at better prices, not different bikes at hugely inflated prices.
  23. mine also says 9:30 am till 12:30 pm edit: ok I signed into facebook and it changed to the correct time. Doh!
  24. So why don't you get a new chain ring. They quite cheap. Scratches on your cranks give it character
