Dorel is struggling to make consistent profits for it's shareholders since 2016. Surely they would like to do business with other big International Retail Groups in order to improve their position ? Bike Brands are not owned by cyclists they are owned by Shareholders.

There is a big difference between 940 and 950 but not so long ago 940 was selling for 50 Large and 950 was selling for 40 Large (both overpriced).

A good friend of mine has a Scott Spark 950 2017 Model which cost him 35k+ brand new. It's a wonderful bike to ride good Suspension but I feel that for the price it was not good value for money and this is why. The Headset is very basic it still has the loose bearings in a cage and takes in a lot of water and mud and requires servicing often to keep it clean. The front and back hubs are the Basic cup and cone with a cage on one side and loose balls on the other side. Also require servicing often. The Drive train is a basic cheap 2X10 with the normal hg50 11-36 and 22-36 in front the XT derailleur does not have a clutch. The chain wore out @ 1800 Kays even though the rider lubes after every ride. The bike has a squeak that nobody can fix, I now suspect that it is coming from inside the dropper post. The Suspension 3 position Lever does not fully lockout the suspension it is Soft Medium and Hard as opposed to Lockout. The saddle is an el cheapo model. Most of the components on the bike except for the suspension can be found on a 10K hard tail. I just feel that the Sparc is a well designed bike Geometry wise but the components (except for the Fork and Shock) are low spec for such a pricey bike. And due to this they are not very good value for money bikes, specially if bought at full price.

Improvements wise I saw 2 new bridges built from Old Pallets. They are busy setting up the Start Finish by the Restaurant Parking Lot. Still No One could tell me if Normal Riding will be Allowed Tomorrow. Asked @ the gate, Security and the guys building the stands.

So basically we were riding spring for 20 years and a bit of grease once a year and you were good to go (That's if you remembered to do it ) and everyone was happy. Now its minor service and major service and no one is ever happy. These new fancy forks are even sticky before they leave the bike shop. I test rode a brand new bike yesterday and the fork felt like a piece of wood. The salesman said that it just needs a service because it's been standing for a while.
