  1. Please post a pic of Scott Scalpel 29er Pro, would love to see such a bike! No wonder there is a mix-up with the price, cause there is a mix-up with the bike

    Sram S40

Good solid wheels, but more for training than racing. Zipp 303 (new full carbon clincher) will give more aero with a 45mm profile and under 1500g, and Easton EC90SL are 1460g for a 38mm profile. I have a set for sale if you are interested.
  5. Without detail about your great experience, it is hard to believe you!
  6. Janniestinkstert
  7. What a way of a newby to introduce himself to the cycling fraternity.....a**hole and punn intended!
  8. Just got off the phone with Le Peleton (Spez importers) to enquire about the expected delivery date for the SL4, and have been told that we might only get the HTC branded frame, but there could be carbon/red ones if I am lucky. Shipment is on its way! SL4, Sram Red (Black) and Zipp hoops....what more could one ask for....just maybe the blessing of the missus!
  9. Spot on Gummi...thats a SL4!
  10. Try again, cause thats not a SL4!
  11. If it looks like a Venge, and rides like a Venge, chances are that it is a Venge!
  12. Garmin or Polar?
  13. Garmin or Polar?
  14. I don't care if the stats were rigged, I am still getting one!
  15. And I was not refering to him, but to others who remarked on the cost of carbon.....now go stick that banner on a pole up your a...!
  16. Zula, my advice to you...buy what you can afford, cause the terms affordable, cheap, expensive, waste of money, etc are only words and have diffrent meanings to the different walks of life. A R3k handle bar might sound ludacrous to some people, but for others it is an necessity to complete his awesome ride. What ever makes you and your wallet happy!
  17. Guys on a shoe-string-budget will tell you carbon is crap, although they very well know that it is the material of choice when it comes to top-end cycling components. A carbon bar will definitely be better to absorb road vibrations, but will be a waste of money if you ride an alu frame.
  18. If money is not a problem, get Specialized S-Works. They are the best.
  19. If it is reliability, precision, performance and good looks you are after, get XTR 2 X 10. If you will settle for second best, get XO, otherwise fork out lots of cash and get XX.
  20. Jacques, as Tumbleweed said, if you have spacers on top of your stem, you can remove the topcap, and the two side bolts, slide it off the steerer tube, and place the extra spacers below the stem. If you do not have spare steerer tube left to play with, flip the stem around so that it points upwards, (almost like a morning glory), and remember to tighten the top cap bolt first (not to tight, but enough to pull the stem into place), and then tighten the two side bolts, using the correct torque value. If it is a carbon steerer tube, do not exceed 6nm.
  21. Had a bad night sleep? Cause this will explain your confusion so early in the morning. It is rather simple, the 500 is a smaller unit and appears more robust with a small screen, while the 800 is bigger with a large touch screen, so more that can go wrong, and easily scratched while doing setting with muddy fingers. Not that difficult to figure out. It is my opinion that my 500 is more suited for off-road racing, and it is about 50g lighter.
  22. I use both. The 500 is great, but the 800 is awesome, however it is my opinion that it is not intended for vigorous off road use, just too frail. I kept my 500 for race-day, and use my 800 for road training. There is a rubber sleeve available for the 800, which will make the unit a bit more robust for mtbiking.
  23. I use Sidi and S-Works, both are great but the S-Works just feels more superior!
  24. I use 620mm on my Stumpy HT 29er, and it is perfect. Tried the 600mm, which was a tad too narrow, and the wider options were too wide. Get what you are comfortable with, after trying a few bars.
  25. This post reminds me of the yellow Perma-tube of the old days. 200ml sounds a bit much dude, no place for air in that tyre!
