  1. Bet it was a Specialized. If the driver is really into speed, he would not be riding anything else!
  2. Try riding on those tyres, instead of running with them, will make a huge difference in performance and speed.
  3. Try this site, it is very accurate - Bike Size Calculator
  4. Hi Chris and Co, a blessed Christmas for you too. Thank you for your hospitality and all the great deals during this year!
  5. Apparantly it does, according to the manufactures, and their warranties!
  6. I would recommend a set of Easton EA 90 XC (1640g) if you weigh more than 80 kg, and No Tubes ZTR Race Gold (1345g) if you dip the scale under 78 kg. The latter is my next set of hoops.... after my diet!
  7. I saw that besides the Dogma being the editor's choice, he also chose a Silverback as one of his bikes for 2012. Nothing wrong with the Silverback and the Dogma, but so much for his choices!
  8. I have covered about 4500km (mostly on tarmac) on my mtb fitted with Specialized Fast Trak LK 2Bliss tyres, and they are still very good. My Rocket Ron's were worn out in half that distance.
  9. Your remark is surely based on my post that I do tarmac training on my mtb. Why not? Besides my Stumpjumper, I also own a roadbike (Tarmac S-Works SL4) , which is reserved for racing, longer group rides, and the occasional speed training. Other rides you will find me on my Stumpy (every day), cause I enjoy the ride.... just don't know why people must always judge, but then again considering your hubname, it makes sense.
  10. At your weight, I would also go minimum of 2bar at the back. I inflate my tyres 3bar for tarmac training, and 2- 2.5 bar for off road, depending on the terrain.
  11. I traded my 26" FS (Merida 96 Team) for a 29er HT (S-Works Stumpy) and almost could not tell the difference in comfort. The 29er is a bit more forgiving than a 26" HT, but not yet a FS.
  12. Like the previous poster said, you can use non-ust tyres for your conversion, but the tyre bead would not make a pefect seal. Chances are that the tyre can come off mid -ride, and then you are in trouble. Get proper tyres and enjoy peace of mind, and your ride.
  13. You asked the same question yesterday. My advice, if you are not sure whether to take tubbies or clinchers, take the clincher, cause tubbies are for more serious racers (who would know when and why they need the tubbies!). I hope this will aid you in your endeavors to procure an awesome wheelset such as Zipp.
  14. No difference between 2011 and 2012 XTR.
  15. If you are looking for a Spez 29er frame only, you are in for a surprise, cause only the top-end ones (S-Works) are sold in frame set, and there are no stock available for both the 2011 and the 2012 models. The 2012 frames are due in SA during January, and should retail between R26K and R30K. Go and speak to Wicus at Coimbra in George, I am sure he will be able to sort you out.
  16. Never had Bora's, but I love my Zipp 404 Firecrest.
  17. Cool to the Dogma2 for being the editor's choice, nice bike, but the S-Works SL4 was my choice for 2012!
  18. If I was the OP, I would cancel the trip...just too much of an issue and too many stuff to consider!
  19. Hey Junior, what is the chances that those Elves will sneak into the storeroom, remove the pricetag of the Assos Zegho Noir shades, and replace it with a more-wallet-friendly one, all of this while Santa is not looking!
  20. Jeees,you are lucky!
  21. The Burger was good for me, and made me a stronger B, but not good enough to push me to A .
  22. Lizzard skins, feels like latex, grips like glue! CWC stocks.
  23. You don't buy a unicycle, you earn one!
  24. Lucky the boss bought a Disco and a boat, and not a Dogma, because if he did, chances are that he would have pop in at the Hub, and then you have been in deep s..t!
  25. Sweet ride jatho! Will look stunning with the dark Bora's!
