I'm riding the 42/30 XTR crank with a 11-36 cassette on my 29er, and have never really struggled getting up a hill. The 40/28 should be fine if you battle with climbs.

Why do you want to buy XX, Hope, XT and XTR. Just choose one, you don't need all four sets. XTR is my choice.

Funny how XT is always justified as 'just as good as XTR', when those making these claims really knows it is not close to XTR, not in performance, not in weight, and obviously not in price. XT is good, but it will never be XTR.

Burry Stander's dad, Charles is the Rotor importer. You can basicly place your order with any bike shop. A set of rings will go between R2K and R2.5K. Cranks are more expensive. Not recommended for Sram Red, and not compatible with new XTR. Those who ride them, love them, but I am not yet sold on the idea, and also because I can't fit it to any of my 2 cranks.

An UST rim is designed to work with an UST tyre, because of the interlocking beads. Your EA70XC rim can be made tubeless without any problems and will work with your Maxxis Crossmarks, but will never be as secure as a UST rim/tyre combo. Many mtbikers are enjoying many carefree miles on non-UST wheel combo's, but there is always a chance that the tyre can pop off the rim. It has happen to me three times, once while doing 30km plus.That was good enough reason for me to get proper UST EA90XC wheels.

Yes, EA70XC can be made tubeless with a proper tubeless rim strip like Stans. It will however never be UST because of the rim bead.

Unless you wanna look like you riding your little sister's bike, don't take this deal.

Ride them more ,they will get a bit louder as the grease on the pawls thins out. They will however never become noisy, unless something is broken inside!
