  3. Who is thi guy? I remember riding with him about 2 years ago in seeded groups then I didnt see him anymore until recently when I was on a ride. Jimmy Hagen. Living proof that I'm not the shortest dude in Cd When Jimmy, myself and Al are on the front I think the turbulence we generate actually hinders the riders behind us.
  4. Proof that Mr Ing sat on the front.......... once
  5. That's just wrong, luckily the shadows and wind were kind to me Great ride, big thanks to Slicker for superb organisation, Brookstein for the backup-bakkie Only 3 hardcore nutters (well 2 and a half cause I'm so big) made it up Tikkiedraai and 172km later we we're back from about the best day's riding the WC has offered up this spring!!

    Helmets

Here's my min-review of all the helmets I've used over the last 3 years. It's not comprehensive but should help. Helmet Weight Comfort Style Vents Comment Bell Sweep R 3/5 4/5 4/5 4/5 Comfy helmet, good vents not bad style, good value Bell Ghisallo 2/5 3/5 2/5 3/5 Quite comfortable, but a bit heavy and outdated Giro Atmos 3/5 4/5 3/5 3/5 Quite comfortable, but outdated now the Ionos is out Giro Pneumo 3/5 3/5 3/5 3/5 Least comfy, three models from the top Specialized D2 5/5 5/5 5/5 5/5 Most comfy, lightest, stylish and cool. Favourite!!! My top helmet is the Specialized D2
  12. I've driven that road, it's in the UK and they've been working on it for give or take 5 years. It's basically a highway that funnels into a slow single lane road with a robot and on weekends it faster to walk.
  13. Specialized and Giant. 2009 ISP Advanced SL looks sweet. Pity Specialized won't release an upgrade to the SL2 till 2010 but I'd happy with the SL in any case (hint hint)
  14. This is worth a read if you've got some time: http://www.pezcyclingnews.com/?pg=fullstory&id=6244&status=True
  15. They are the D's B's. You should see the mega-bling S-Works CARBON one's the Big Jock has, OMG
  16. Still in it's infancy having only just been officially released. But like cell phones/iPods/ABS/electric windows it will undoubtedly catch on and become main stream as the price comes down and the technology goes through a couple of iterations.
  17. sweet wave
  18. Welcome to the hub Beesboer. I think you're looking at this from the wrong angle; you should be thinking along the lines of riding more races between now and next year. This will not only improve your fitness but then the associated costs of joining a club/CSA will be spread over the whole period. Spring season in PPA-land starts this weekend and it's followed later in the year by the summer league of races leading conveniently up to the Argus. Train more, race more, and a sub-3 is easily on the cards. You know it makes sense ShortLegs2008-09-02 05:52:33
  19. For the record, DA underwent some minor changes from initial release up till 2007. My STI's have a slightly different downshift lever but I doubt cranks would have changed because of the expense of forging them. Either way the cranks in the photo are the 7800 model.
  20. Action Cycling Cape Town - Mainly MTB, small Revolotion Cycles - Not sure, never been there b4 Bowman Cycles - Cater for MTB/Road more stock that Action, better selection Soloped Cycles - Not worth your effort unless you want to pick up some really old second-hand kit
  21. Oh and just for the record, WPCA do pay, Oom Chris bought me my annual cappuccino yesterday morning
