  1. I'll confirm, it's the infamous CYCLES direct, home of Specialized in the Western Cape and not a bad LBS aswell.
  2. Looks even better in person. Almost ready to challenge Pantani. Still holding both thumbs for mid November......
  3. Trust you to drag a perfectly honest topic into the gutter
  4. Personal experience; KMX X10SL Ti is more durable, lighter and easier to maintain that the DA that came with my bike. It's also mega-bling to be warned!!! I have two chains that I alternate on my race bike and have yet to experience a failure. Keep them clean and lubed and alternate every month or so and a pair should last. I'll post back if and when either of them require replacement. They've been going now since last spring series.
  5. Budget permitting a training wheel set makes perfect sense. Heavier and more robust wheels like EA70's or DA7800 with Gators or Armadillos are bomb proof and if you add tire liners with slime tubes they last forever. I race on Zipps and I know people in London who commute on their zipps so they're up to the task but having spent the dosh, I prefer to keep them as best since they're tubbies. But everyone knows that training wheels are ok but a training bike, now that's the business.....
  6. Fantastic news OT , please please oom Chris let me ride the dev races aswell on the 16th........ http://www.best-of-web.com/_images/080508-221635-958007.jpg
  7. ....... being built up at a popular SA LBS. Stay tuned for further updates
  8. So after looking for a bike for so long and promising to race at the CT Grand Prix on Dec 16th what's the story OT????
  9. Staminade Endure by Muscle Science (I think). Also tried USN Cytopower HP and that seemed to work aswell.
  10. Would love to know what happened to some of the guys who seemed to have dropped off the earth. Also, the guy nailed head on by a car on the drag past the airfield years ago; whatever happened to him?
  11. Reverse back 10 years, if this happened with messieur Lester in the bunch he would have ripped his head off literally
  12. Geat idea Spartikus........ if you live in London
  13. love that Yak
  14. I'll second that, the 143 and my a$$ didn't get on and I persisted for 2 whole painful months. The Fizik on my race and Regal on my commute bikes get along just fine with my derriere
  15. Works just fine in your jocks, but if the shop assistant wants a closer look, beware
  16. GP4000S are the best and I've tried just about everything going. Punctures have a lot to do with luck and there are very few if any tyres that will prevent a puncture from a full frontal attack by an angry duiweltjie. The GP4000S roll better and corner better than the Gators and the Armadillos I use on my commute bike. They're way lighter and no tyre levers are required for fitting or removal.
  17. Here's a good start: http://members.tripod.com/geert_pc/slang.htm
  18. ...provided you don't get a speck of dust in the mechanism Look Keo's get my vote. The Carbons are super light and work brilliantly. If you're going to walk around in your road shoes get some MTB shoes and SPD's or get yourself some of these, problem solved:
  19. Great pics as we expect from you Ronelle. This was a hectic race, as reflected in the race report comming soon.
  20. Better to be pi$$ed off PI than pi$$ed on....... ShortLegs2008-10-01 03:54:03
  21. 2008 Specialized BG S-Works with the BOA thingy. Most comfy shoe ever, light, looks cool, feels cool on your feet and the BOA thingy to tighten the shoe is the D's B's. There is no better shoe
  22. Loads of good ideas, and as a current top level racer AM should be giving short/med/long term feedback on all the equipment he's riding. He's in the perfect position to be providing real feedback on all the bling hanging around in the LBS's.
  23. I'm shocked, a lady keeping a piece of clothing for 5 years OMG!!! Seriously though, if they're causing you discomfort, bin them. I recommend Specialized shoes, they're light, stiff and super comfy. You can also change the inserts to make your ride even more comfortable.
