  1. 1) Either u've got carbon fibre bones wrapped in muscle 2) U're a normal human hiding a motor in his bicycle Surely it can't be that healthy for the Schleck's to be that skinny, esp at the beginning of the tour! YoH - i have to consider myself fat at 1.66 & 65kg's I'm upset, going home to ease my pain with chocolate!
  2. DG - If you are JHB based, Jon Patricios works out of Rosebank and Sandton, he does sports medicine, did the injections in my elbow. Google him, he does a lot of the rugby players etc. I have golfers elbow & also nerve issues think from hockey and sitting in front of a PC most the day. Use to suffer with finger & arm numbness and pains. Better now, hockey's busy effecting it again tho I also know an Orthopaedic Surgeon who does Upper Limb (arms & shoulders) but he suggested i see Jon 1st. PS....neither will be able to help you with bike setup
  3. Admittedly this is on Lance's TT bike, wonder how much diff the little aero cover makes? As for the whole bike with aero brakes, even the section from the stem to frame etc? Almost like the bump on Valentino's Leathers
  4. You failed to mention sitting in front of your PC the entire day surfing Cycling websites! Would muscle stiffness play a part? Since riding long distances would cause you to clench your hands causing muscles to tighten yet we fail to stretch our forearms? Thanks to the sports doctors and bio's i've seen, they've all given me stretching exercises for my arms (elbow tendons were foooook'd)! My legs just seem to go numb?
  5. Mental note to self: Don't ride in Knysna, it makes your fingers numb permanently.
  6. I was in Springs yesterday and saw a few road/race bikes that could compete, even the extra levers on the handlebars for the brakes
  7. I know other guys that won't ride Michelin anymore also due to continuous punctures. Think they with Lithiums? I use to ride Gatorskins, been riding GP4000 since they were released (and they have Tread Wear Indicators). (110-120psi MAX basically). I've also done Force & Attack, just too pricey to maintain, the rear wears quicker than the front and they diff thickness and treat pattern. I rode Maxxis Detonators once, i found them a bit more slippery, not sure if it's a slightly harder compound? Think i'll stick to Conti on my bicycle, ride Michelin on my Superbike
  8. I'd like to know if there's any price fixing involved before i buy from them Cake - My achiles heel
  9. Thanks, cos i've been looking at a set of deep sections and i'm really unsure of what to buy since you have the "bigger" brands like Zipp 404's, Easton EC90's, HED Jets, Mavic Cosmic, Reynolds Assault/46's etc competing against the no name brand "taiwanese/HK" makes at half the price. I've spoken to somebody i know who's ridden a set, also said they were stiff as hell and a really great wheel. Better than even Zipp, HED & Mavic. Just looking at as much feedback as i can get, since spending money to then change afterwards isn't what i want to do. Thanks again!
  10. The're actually called "Lightweight", seen them at Northcliff Cycles, pretty pricey but very nice! http://www.lightweight.info/index.php?id=1&L=1/ http://www.cadencecycling.com/products/Wheelsets/Lightweight/
  11. Hi All Anybody got good or bad comments on the Corima Aero Wheels? Preferably from 1st hand knowledge, reviews you've read would also help. Thanks
  12. On the old forum when you had your mouse over the topic/subject it would bring up the 1st couple lines of info from the post. Esp useful when looking at the Sale items, since if it was Road and i wanted MTB, then i'd skip clicking the topic. Now it just shows the creation date & time So i need to click on the topic to see if the content is even valid to me. Esp when you just see "BARGAIN" as the title. Can this be rectified?
  13. What about a black and white frame?
  14. 1 day when i'm all grown up, i wanna be a car!
  15. This is why i support the Justice Project of SA! There's been tons of accidents in JHB as well. Good cyclist i ride with is also out, car turned in front of him as well, T-Boned. Last w/end i know 3 guys that came down being nicked by a truck. Apparently the cyclists were at fault, don't know the full story. Take Care out there! www.jp-sa.org
  16. Hi All How many of you believe that the SA justice system is totally above board and do everything they should to ensure your rights are not violated? There's some that know my story and it's still on going but in all my research, i came across the Justice Project SA. It's a non-profit organisation and I've personally called them to see what they're really about. They are in need of funding and currently also looking for an Economical Car for around R10000. With the amount we spend on a sport we love and the bikes we ride, surely supporting something worthy should be a serious consideration? Please visit their website, if needed call Howard and really speak to somebody who's passionate about ensuring our rights aren't infringed upon. Who knows, 1 day you might benefit from what they're fighting for! http://www.jp-sa.org/ Thank you Clinton
  17. Jozi is *** today! Anybody ride up Linksfield Ridge in the mornings? Sunrise up there is also awesome! Makes getting up early so worth while!
  18. That's definitely better than even the I-Magic, cos that just turning, no leaning Problem it's still riding an indoor trainer.
  19. Very nice dude! Hahahaha....i recognise the shop background
  20. No female or marital advice from me but i came off a week ago round 20km/h. Water and sand in a corner aren't friendly. I ride a SuperBike most days for work and it's kinda kicked in that even with a lot more protection, coming off that thing at any speed is gonna hurt like hell. Grazed & bruised with my ego in check, i too realise that cycling kit offers very little protection. Been around 7 years since my last serious fall. I don't ride with gloves, even now post fall, stupid but i agree that your hands are the first thing you brace yourself with. Wishing her a speedy recovery and i truely hope the enjoyment of riding her bike isn't clouded by this accident.
  21. Hi Anybody out there know if you can use a SRAM Force Crank on Shimano Ultegra BB? Have manufacturers "standardised" BB to Crank sizes? Thanks
