  1. Call me a cynic all you want. If you don't see the problem here then it talks more to you than to me. The hub never fails to amaze me...
  2. It's called marketing. And it's usually for free because you want to make money from it from sales. As I've said before, I have no problem with the doc or the talk, only with the coincidental leaving out that he has his own nutritional product line. I mean you mention everything else about him. I'm not dissing anybody or anything. If a VW dealer sets up a vehicle talk, where do you think could it lead too? It's called transparency, especially when there is a conflict.
  3. That is bull****. They have tried nothing.
  4. I think you've got it! Case closed. No more talks necessary.
  5. You really don't know? He has his own nutrition/supplement brand and he's giving a talk about nutrition?
  6. Agreed, great coach from what I've heard so not taking anything away from him. But you have to recognise the conflict and it's interesting that in the original post it's not mentioned.
  7. I wonder what he'll propose as supplement...
  8. I posted to the correct thread - https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/139743-event-mabalingwe-lionman/page__st__80
  9. From Hal: Link is up http://www.isuzu.co....we-lionman-2014
  10. NANNY PARK. JUST BECAUSE WE CAN'T ALL LIVE HAPPILY WITH EACH OTHER.
  11. Why don't you all do the Tour de Boland the week and then the Argus on the Sunday? There's racing cats, but also open.
  12. Just one day, one day, the dogs will snap and stop barking and licking and playing around. That's when things will get nasty. Imagine coming around a bend on the Spruit, tyres fighting for traction, rider scraping his knee ... and behind the next jump ...
  13. I was just joking since that is where the thread was heading. Trying not to be too serious. Spruit is really a place to ride slower and have fun and enjoy the green strip in the middle of Jozi.
  14. Nice spider! And podium too!
  15. I'm a Spruit mouse (haven't earned my rat colours yet). When I yell STRAVA or TRACK please get out of the way. And your dog without a leash is an obstacle which the 29 wheels were meant to go over and not around.
  16. Nice going! Interesting about your ascent. My Strava corrected elevation from my Garmin 500 was 982m from 1,062m before correction.
  17. Was a very enjoyable ride although a but dehydrated at the end. Sand, rocks and thorns! And only fell once. Flat road coming back, but against the wind made it hard. How did everybody else go?
  18. Compared to the even more awesome reputation of taxis?!
  19. Looking forward to this one. 70km for me, but not racing, rather enjoying the reserve at a LSD pace.
  20. I moved up one place YEAH!!
  21. Have you ever read The Hour by Michael Hutschinson? A great read about his attempt and a lot of history about the record.
  22. Ok don't mind me. I assume http://www.advendurance.com/other/lionman is the correct website which shows: Saturday 19 Jul - 08:00 Start Marathon 70km Batch "A" + 5min intervals Saturday 19 Jul - 08:50 Start Half Marathon 40km Batch "A" + 5min intervals Saturday 19 Jul - 09:30 Start 20km Fun Race Batch "A" +5min intervals Saturday 19 Jul - 10:10 10km Fun Ride All
