  1. It will be similar to 2 weekends ago, we all started as one group, the faster guys went up ahead, and then regrouped at a few locations. My average was 24.3km/hr, and there were guys much faster. We naturally broke up in to smaller groups, and made sure that everyone was accounted for at all times. I don't know if that helps you at all? EDIT: There may be a slightly slower group as well this week with averages in the 22-25km range. But it's just a social ride to do some recon on the route.

Downgrades from the 92km to the 44km route can also be done at Registration at a cost of R20. Number collection will take place at the following venues. 3. I'll give it a couple of more weeks, and then if I see him again, I'll smoke his a$$ I have to say, my fitness is definitely improving with leaps and bounds since I've started commuting!
  4. So this morning I learned the following: - Using a backpack, no matter how light you try to pack it, is still a drag! I couldn't go down Tiekie Draai as fast as what I normally do! - Also, if said backpack has a strap that dangles in the wind, it will hit you on the thigh/ass and it stings! (it has a plastic thingy on the end) - And no matter how hard I tell myself to take it easy, when a roadie came by me and didn't greet, I was obliged to chase him down! Stayed with him for a ways, but still no aknowledgement that I was there.
  5. Yeah, Bryton, MapMyRide, Training Peaks, there's too many to remember!
  6. I'll check it out. Without setting up a new account with that, just some issues that we have come across with this thread: - Can you upload files from garmin or polar or do you have to use the app - Is it private or do you have to invite people to the challenges, ie can I post the link to the Hub and anyone can join the challenge? The biggest problem I see is that people are already using Endomondo, Strava, Garmin Connect, and then a few other programs that are downloaded on their computers. I currently have to remember to upload my workouts to 3 different programs. If you can create something that you just upload your info to one site and its access to all sites, that would be da bomb!
  7. Oh no! Heal up soon! I think I'll definitely continue with this next year! It's been a good motivation!
  8. There's only 6 weeks left of 2012!!! Anywho, I was thinking that for those that didn't track mileage on endomondo, if you want to send your stats to me at the end of the year, I can include you as honorable mentions...
  9. You should try harder so that you do make the ride!
  10. Awesome! The last ride was 3:45 riding time, and 4:00 total time. There were a few stops along the way... The faster guys ended up going ahead the last bit.
  11. Looking forward to the ride on Saturday! Who is all in so far?
  12. Yup, there will be a slower group on the 24th as well! I know Micky Mouse +3 other ladies will be joining as well
  13. OK, it looks like it's all up and running again! Must've had some issues that got sorted.
  14. My average was 24.3km/hr. The other crazies were a lot faster...
  15. Yup, still a ride on the 24th. It will be the same relaxed pace as this past Saturday! Just watch this space...
  16. I have/get the same problem wrt toes going numb/dead. I ended up purchasing shoes that are slightly wider, and then I don't pull the velcro tight at all, i.e. just press it down. I also flex my toes periodically to get some blood flow back in to them. I also wear very thin socks Usually though, the fitter I get and more time I spend biking, the less it happens. Also, for the hotfoot thing, I've been trying out different saddles, and the one saddle caused me to get hotfoot, which I had never experienced before. My conclusion with that is the saddle is pressing on a nerve or something thats reducing blood flow, if I get up out of the saddle every so often that seems to help.
  17. Thanks guys and gal for an awesome ride! I really enjoyed it and it was great meeting everyone! The best part about the ride was the delicious chocolate milkshake at the end! Thank you Wannabe for organizing and keeping me company the last few km's! And a big thank you to Think Bike Marshal Stan for accompanying us! It was greatly appreciated! @indianroadrunner, we all had to start somewhere! Just keep at it and you'll be turning over lots of happy miles on your bike soon! Just an FYI, Die Burger also has a 40km route, and you've already done Old Helshoogte, which is the most difficult part, so why don't you think about doing it?
  18. I was planning on sandbagging it for the first 75%, and then I'll pull you guys home. I need to make sure Wannabe isn't behind me at anyone point... And towards the end, he should be too tired to take pictures...
  19. I'm looking forward to the ride tomorrow!
  20. True, but there are so many experts here on Da Hub, that there should be someone who know's what kind of a racing snake that is. My money is on it being a dirt-roadie...
  21. I think it's hilarious that no one knows what kind of snake it is, but know what kind of wheelset it is!
  22. Awesome! It looks like we're going to have a nice big group going! Maybe we should bring some food for a picnic afterwards? Or is there a good place for brekkies?
  23. Yup! Let me know what time.
  24. No problemo! Btw, are we carpooling there?
