  1. I guess this isnt good news for us If we are hoping they want to help us.. They will use it in teir defence. I admit I have ridden these trails but try and do it at night or very early. Not so much for sanparks but that other Mtbikers don't follow my bad example.
  2. It might just also show the Police that if they dont act we will, and they will make them look bad as result.
  3. I would love to do it with the police but theres probably more rights protecting those cave dwellers than there is protecting us. Im not afraid of them but I wonder if going to the police might just piss them off as we will be highlighting their inability to keep the mountian area safe. I was obviously joking when I mentioned landmines but pepperspray and or teargass would set a clear example, those guys are not permitted to live there and the cops either dont bother or they are afraid of confronting them head on.
  4. sure, hehe, one weeknight next week? How bout a ride with all interrested after work one afternoon and plan it as we go?
  5. Hi, you dont have to prove it to me, or any one, Just you made it sound like a stock oll "Giant trance 2 with old LX cranks etc etc."
  6. where do we get teargass?? I dont think this will go down with the police but F*ck this, Were all a bunch of athletes and can run much aster than the cavemen, and **** if authorities are not going to do anything about it, then we will. So Im thinking early one saturday morning. at like 5am, we meet at roads mem, bottom entrance, and either ride up there or walk. and then either throw the smokebombs, crackers etc, or go right up to the cave and shout a clear message that we will come back for them if the **** continues I dont know, This plan is probably full of holes but otherwise nothing will get done. AND WE CAN DO THIS OURSELVES...and we can cut those trees down ourselves aswell. F parksboard, we go one night do it, I know someone with a chainsaw. I heard last night about 3 mountainbikers that got held up, 3 !!! WHEN WAS THIS?? DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THAT?
  7. but then... Monark: My Anthem X2 weighs 12.1kg with pedals and sealant! It is still running the stock LX cranks and heavy crossmark wheels... could easily be in the 11's with carbon cranks and some thinner wheels... Monark Im not trying to be mean here or that you would lie about such a stupid little thing but, just that I think there might be some" discrepancy's " when it comes to scales etc..
  8. Exactly... the Zula frames are heavy by the way, but not boat ancor style.. around 2.6kg my guess?
  9. You see Mackie, that is far from "reasonable" I meen that is R35 000 if yoid go buy the stuff again.. very nice, Im just saying that people must remember the criteria here, Sure we are all whipped on spending mega bucks on our bikes but a reasonable xc FS, this is not.
  10. I think 12.5-13kg is the bar. It takes more than you think to get it down to 11kg. If a carbon HT with a ful XTR and ZTR wheelset weighs 10- 10.5kg then 11kg's for a FS is going weight weeny. I guess If youre buying a 35k Merida 96 or scott spark 20/30 youll get 11-12kg gange but for a everyday short travel FS in the "reasonable" catagory, Id say 13kg. then youre already paying near 20k My Zula is 12kg's. And theres nothing to heavy on there. (apart from the frame ) Sure Its solid parts but all lightweight. Basic list: Reba Sl Xtr cranks with specialites 2 blades Xtr shift + rear der Juicy ultimates wheels. hopes with Revolution spokes and Equelizer 23rims (1650g) Bars Crank bros Cobalt 3 (190g) Setpost Controltec team (219g) I meen apart form casette(slx) xt pedals SLX front der maybe the UST rear tire could be a foldable so shead 100g..but at what price. getting a carbon seat, Its damn near Impossible to get my bike anywhere near 11.5 whigh some might say is heavy.. I think we get Flattered by all these 9kg FS and 7.5 kg Ht superbikes reality is that sub 12, youre looking at 20 plus, and that isnt reasonable anymore.. my zula, sorry its dirty I know.
  11. OK I had good conversation last night. 2 mates also riders and I was talking about the chanting coming from those caves when we rode there last time. It was almost as if they were getting themselves fired up to go cause sh*t. Someone else mentioned the guys in the cave abd how the crime rose when the guys in the cave came back. Lets go to that cave early one morning and teargass that place! or crackers or something, but we must smoke them out of there like a beehive. And then another thing, Yes I know theres going to be someone Holier than thou who might pee in their pants at this thought, but apart from the real old trees, lets chop down all trees closer 10m from the road or something like that, then one can see them coming. I meen the mountain is there for us.. Lets go chop the tree down where they hide, And chuck some itching powder or landmines or Human turds in there that those ******* will never go back there, Yes sure , They might find other places to go, but In my opinion One needs to break this chain of events before it becomes a habit for them before its their bread and butter. I dont know, It sounds Extream measures but I want to be on the mountain again in the future and see others enjoy it...
  12. Well how often do you race? If you train use road shoes. the few races a year shouldnt make them stink, and wearing socks defeats the object as that would take up all the time you would gain with your new tri shoes.
  13. Im with you brother, Tacx cages, Ive also never lost a bottle on my mtb - ever, and Like Ive said I use a 1l bottle. I was just wondering if the seat mounted bottles make it different.
  14. These are so simple and good, I saw them and then the next time wanted to buy one it was gone sold out. Sure I can order though. As for the bottles falling out, Okes put string around it. Do bottles fall out easier than normal cages because the way the bottle comes out is more in line with the direction the bumps come from?
  15. It seems after youve pinched both ends of the cable as a mech would do, you screw out the red bolt which tightens it..
  16. http://www.bikerumor...le-cage-holder/ Heres a link, Im my opinion I cant beleve someone is actually even considering it! Despite scratching the Anodising off any ali seatpost, It wil evensually cut your seatpost in half, I meen these cables will move, even by very little, when a full bottle is attached to frame. This will surely also void your warrentee?
  17. I wonder If we should let those guys fight our fights.. Maybe get a runner"s club incolved? There was a large turnout at the bottom gate ofRoads mem on tuesday, nice rainbow nation bunch
  18. good point, How do we call on non whites wthout making this a racial issue in the first place? Calling all brothers!!
  19. lets do this.
  20. I was just looking at a map in another thread about groupe ridees in CT, so I got this off google and wanted to get input, Asfar as I know the guy who got stabbed on sunday sas stabed at the green dot? The real dangerzone is apparently at the red dot ??
  21. I made a green spot where I recon the danger zone is. Can anyone confirm?
  22. haha thats Piss funny! the oke on the right ! hahah
  23. look out, Its along this road (before meeting up with the main blockhouse climb from town) where the Bike jackings have been taking place. Its near the top of the first long climb in that corner/bend before the downhill towards the old shootingrange. I wouldnt ride this allone. just a word of warning.
