  1. This is *** funny
  2. Its a little focus- Milram ish, they had the white lightweights which were very droolworthey. But not bad for a trek at least we will see this more often.
  3. I dont know If you but I think its rather sexy! I dig the white gray and baby blue. Im not the biggest fan of his, but agg, cant say to much bad about the kid. (ok, not the kid, because if he gets banned I dont know who I'm hooting for this season) Anyway I cant wait for the season to start. Tour down under starts tomorrow, Grepel vs Cav going to be good!
  4. DONT EFFING INTERRIGATE ON MY PRIVATE ER BIKE, HEHE NOOIT BRU, THE ZULA IS A STAYEN, THE BIKE IN THE PICTURE, IS A YETI THAT I BOUGHT FOR THE BOK, NOT BAD HEY, I MEEN IF YOUR BOK HAD A YETI, THAT WOULD MAKE YOU, WEL, N LEKKE OKE BY THE WAY, I NEED TO GO RIDE THIS TRAIL WITH YOU..IVE NEVER RIDDEN IT, BUT I WAS TOLD, ITS LIKE A WORLDCUP DH TRACK, ITS 9MINUTES LONG AND ITS IN TOWN, ISH AREA.
  5. If I wasnt getting the Newer(not newest) versions which my specialites fit onto (looks lik pic below) I would definately keep them, some guys have made them seriously nice! Its just difficult to find a 42T bigring in essence, which fits on the 102BCD of the older XTR. I was looking for those so long and finally got them, Im wondering how I can make my specialites fit those. Might do a bit of a hacksaf and file job with the new ones. though. Let me know If you want them soon(month) or you might find them on the hub in about 3 weeks once Ive decided what I want to keep
  6. Like this , hehe, this dude didnt even do it nice. Dude I have one, in ok condition, all 3 rings are actually still good. Which Xt's do you have, We can barter maybe. I just dont want to ride them because blades are hardish to come by.
  7. If you run a normal 22-32-42 crankset a 32t casett is more than fine, I find the difference between cogs are smaller so one doesnt get that "in between gears" feel as much. The 36's are perfect for 2 blade cranksets when youre running a 28 - 42t blade 34t are col if you are large or unfit, or your bike weighs 15kg's
  8. Anyone keen to ride there from town ? getting back might be a bit dicy but the new cycling lanes make it a bit easier and going there wil be 40 minutes in this south easter.
  9. I should get mine to around R11.5 with the new grouppo I dont mind that though, I meen nothing wil ever climb like a 8kg ht or a 9kg fs superbike, but I will be wore then happy with 11kg. fun project though
  10. I have a Topeak Two-up-tune-up stand, so you can hang your bikes on them in the garage to save space or just in the bike room, quite lekka solid. But not out and out a Mechanics stand, more of a multiperpose unit.
  11. Lekker, looks brand new! Sho, The scale at my LBS must be broken because If thats 12.4kg then mine bust be a bit lighter, Surely no offence chubba, I meen It looks like youve got a lekker comfortable build with parts that are quality and good compromise between light and strenth, Ive just replaced most of my stuff the last year to get lighter and I dont have much heavy on there anymore but the scale at action cycles still reads 12.2kg Lets see what happenes after I put on the XTR.. lekker bike though, sorry for unintensional hi jack.. SwissVan, I hathe the cableguides aswell and find that the mud and grit gets in there bigtime. and then grinds the downtube when the cables move, because they do.
  12. Both of mine was unoficial, but I did a Solo Cederberg excursion( lekke stupid) end of feb last year. I had 110km to cover on my mtbike and I had to ride from ceris up Gaydo pass into the cederberg with a backpack. I left at 5am but by 13:00 I still had this hell of a climb to go, It was 100km of hell before and must have been well over 40, no shade in sight, my water had ran out 30 minutes before. I was in a spot of trouble actually. It took me more than a hour to get to the top of that pass, When I rode I breathed so hard I couldnt swallow(mouth had gone to dry) so I had to ride the easy bits in granny and then push the real steep bits. I stopped about 3 times where I literelly wanted to give up but I couldnt, there was no shade, no water, no cell phone reception, nothing. Probably the most Id ever suffered. Also the dumbest thing Id ever done. The second was last year at the Xterra Grabouw. Race started at 11am, swam for 30 minutes, then started a 24km mtb with 930m of climb.
  13. Bos

    mtb bottle cages

TACX bottlecages, I ride a FS with a 1 liter bottle and have never that is NEVER lost a bottle and I ride tokai downhills etc all the time. I wont trust anything else.
  14. no the reba is perfect, you just add a spacer to limit the travel to 100mm, I did it myself, really easy. If youre not a climber I would make the bike as climbing efficient as possible and rather be slightly worse at the downhills- your skills/talent can make up for that.
  15. yes seatpost is 30.9
  16. I know For a fact that you can buy the flexable neck thing seperate. Are you asking if one can only replace the broken part? that im not sure of, but It might not be much cheaper than getting a whole new thing and will be less trouble. I saw one at Builders wearehouse the other day.It didnt have the holder with it, so you can at least savour that. hope that helps
  17. As far as setup, I wouldnt ride a longer fork then 100mm on the zula, My Reba came with 120mm and it made the bike terrible, uphill or down. It stuffed the angles up real bad. Ride it with enough sag in the rear, Id say 25 - 30% min. I normally ride the front of my bike pretty low, did so on my santacruise aswell( long arms), but Im riding the morewood even lower. a even more race like position and because I want to make it climb as best possible. I have a Crank bross Cobalt xc3 "zero rize" bar, its 680mm and has more backsweep than a flat bar, It actually goes perfect with the bike since the lively geometry and trailbike feel means one can run slightly lower front and still have a bike that loves play and popping the bike around on. my point, keep the front low, If you want it fast, It will still handle downhills etc.
  18. I normally would be with youall complaining about the wind but Im sitting in knysna where its been raining every second day whilst Im trying to have a bit of holiday.. Im going to attack the redroute tomorrow morning. its going to be wet and snotty, Ita about time I have a liedown. I'll report back about monorails gripping on wet routes (there seem to be a few guys that beleve you find tires other than metal spikes that grip to routes)
  19. I Have no Idea, like you said, mail them yourself you lazy bastard hehe. Im going to try finish these shoes I have at the moment then get them, Im trying to stop this "upgrading and getting new kit for the sake of having it." Its terrible! But yes, I never get really running fit because I always start getting shinsplints before I get to strong.. Man I hate being afraid of the run in triathlons!
  20. Whilst there seem to be some runners on this thread.. In your minds would mid foot strike have any effect on shinsplints? In my brief 2 years of triathlon participation I have had a problem with shinsplints Ive ran in 4 different shoes and not had much luck. I know I should go see a guy like Tim Noakes, which I plan on doing, but Ive thought of getting the Newtons..some of my experienced running mates are raving about them. http://barefootrunningshoes.org/newton-running-shoes/ cool website about barefoot running.
  21. Im getting Newton shoes next, Its all the rage. No for real. Some of my mates( runs 20km a day kind of runners) recomended them to me. Triangle in PE sells them. otherwise I was looking at some of the lunar lite 2's at a shop here in knysna and have read reviews on them in the latest Triathlon plus mag (they had a big shoe review) and it also got good ratings.
  22. Ek is seker as ons hom sag genoeg by die rooi roete af bliksem sal hy na so paar keer sy "pro" attitude verloor! vra dalk maar vir Jacques. Ons moet biekie ry! rooi roete is sweeet! more? ek gan nou kom se pad ry saam met swarrie, of dalk homtini. Het dit 10 jaar laas gery...
  23. Awesome, I had a Blur LT that I raced and rode the gnarliest trails on but ended up selling it after about 2 years of lovinit. Maybe I was just looking for something new but wanted something more race ready but I needed a bike that stil likes to be pushed down "you cant ride down there steep" stuff. The zula is pretty close but a little lighter, and VPP and a extra 3/4 inch travel is all I want
  24. Is that the "bikerumour" pics? not yours im sure? didnt think they ever would bring out a HT... but yes its nice, and their frames are such quality, Im holding out for a 120mm version of the blur xc carbon. The blur LT is to far into AM territory for me, I want a 2kg, 120mm travel fs with race angles. Basicly like the zula, it rides like a trailbike but climbs like xc, but not the zula, because I want the cruise, my first love nice HT though. and the paint is hot, unlike the blur xc carbon at the moment, I think its terrible.
  25. Those look naais> you recon they are standard XT though? aybe 2011 limeted release? something like that. Its probably XT's turn for a overhaul next year as XTR just got one. I want those cranks!
