  1. ???? ja was struggling a bit there. Francoin was pushing. But somehow still ahead of me ????
  2. So amped for this. Have been putting in the miles as to not die 1000 deaths up to that mast again.
  3. Nice looking bikes. Well thought after spec and modern Geo. Seat tube angle looks pretty steep for a HT? Not sure how that will pedal along on long flats. Well done Titan, I hope you have plenty of stock
  4. Wide range 1 x cassette Dropper Post Rear shock with lockout/pedal mode Lower/ single crown fork Might not be cheaper, but Sorted Wont be fun to climb unless you make it worse at going DH. Its been said. Get a 26'Enduro
  5. So not sure what you weigh, and what level you ride at, but there are pro's and cons to both. Obviously personal preference would render some of these pointless or not. Pros C1: Replacement bladders are commercially available. More tunable platform (shim stack tuning) Cons C1: (RC) Firm stock tune, overdamped for most. Dated looks? then Pros C2 RTC: Slightly easier to service?(need the kit) Stock damper tune is softer & pretty perfect for me (70kg). Lockout options. Looks nicer. Cons C2 RTC: Replacement bladders are not widely commercially available (although shockcraft NZ seems to have them. You will however have to see if they will sell you one) Non tunable platform (shim stack tuning) I don't know of a lot of charger bladders that blew up (C1 or C2) unless people tinkered with them. I got the newer 2019 one when my old bike was stolen and after initially perhaps riding it to firm (air pressure) and blaming it on the damper, I adapted to settings very close to the recommended and removed all volume spacers I have now been on it without wanting to touch the settings for a year.(D3 air spring) I just dial in some LSC when I ride smoother bikepark (Hellsend) tipe tracks, and when I ride dirtroads I take the LSC off for the suppleness on top. Jonkers, somewhere in between. I would always pick underdamped over overdamped, as the airspring makes waaaaay more difference. In my opinion, most folks never touch their HSC unless they race. Anyway, thats off the topic. I don't know bru. I do use my lockout when climbing out the saddle on smooth roads, but both forks have that. The trail option is really not worth the effort they put in to try get there. Tough call bru, Luckly its not mine!
  6. I think The ARCH should have been at 30mm and the FLOW just a more sturdy version thereof or 35mm...
  7. Some Bad news from the French cup. The Two Commencal Muc_OFF Arguably the most exciting to watch, Amaury Pierron and Thibaut Daprela.. have taken themselves out.. https://www.pinkbike.com/news/amaury-pierron-airlifted-from-french-cup-dh-race.html But to get us into the weekend vibe for Les gets.. Here's a bit of a preview of the Legendary French track.
  8. Whoop whoop, Im there.
  9. All I can say is that was one hell of a first episode! That run of Daprela..he was so aggressive in that top half. I cant believe he stayed on... a name to be watched though! If he didn't stall in the woods he would have smoked everyone, although I am very happy for Troy. How can one not be. Theres a lot of hungry, fast French riders at the moment. Going to enjoy seeing the usual heroes trying to keep these talented young guns in check. Vergier and Vali was my fantasy league top pic. It wasn't my best.
  10. Racers must be thinking.. a week ago all I wanted to do was race... Now this.
  11. There are only 200 fricken teams out there.. which one is ours?
  12. Sorry If its been mentioned somewhere. Are we doing a fantasy league, and if so, what's it called - password etc.
  13. Looks like a Blur.. ???? I still think the Tallboy is where its at.
  14. So the real question is if he will come good in the second half of the tour.. Judging from Chris's last couple of GT's, he will come in undercooked to the extent that he can just hang on and start coming into his best form for the last week, which is still 5 weeks out. This really is the only way to win a GT at his age, and even P Roglic has shown that being on fire from the gun is not the way to do it. However, as everyone has stated, who knows if that will happen.. Not knowing the route off by heart, the first week is usually a bit of a warmup and the favourites are conservative on the first climbs anyway, Stage 5 (ITT) and Stage 9 (Mountaintop finish) looks like the first stages where big time gaps could appear, barring the usual first week crashes.. and where his experience and bunch should come good. Froom should be OK for the ITT, its stage 8-9 where he will be hanging on by the skin of his teeth. Who doesn't like a good underdog - Froom Dog in this case
  15. I have bought a pair of shoes from Evans cycles in Gatwick. Their service was great. The guys knew what they were talking about and had patience although late.
  16. Interestingly enough, I had this exact chat to a renowned shop in Cape Town, that sells ebikes like hotcakes by the sounds of it. Im asking because like some on this thread, Id actually love to get more trail time, but riding 30mins to 45 minutes a week does not get you in the best of shape, so when the time is available, one can only go as far as ones fitness will allow. Batteries are the most expensive part. Not repairable. Typically has 2 yr carry over warrantee. However, app should give indication of life and not something that gives much issues. Motor, backpedal the crank and feel for roughness.. motors are repairable & serviceable and do not just "die". Services are in the 5k and upward range and warrantees are a problem( It will be voided) Controls are replaceable 1-2k I don't own one but looking at remortgaging my house
  17. Thats great insight. Take note of this wisdom.
  18. Here's a link. https://joefrielsblog.com/crash-training/ Please forgive me if you're familiar with all this. It's just so good. A must for stage racing. Good luck!
  19. How is your endurance at the moment? A combination of long rides on the weekends and add lots of climbing in your training schedule will help. As you get fitter put long climbs at 2hrs on your long rides so you get use to riding tired. Joe Friel has a great book on training for stage racing. Not sure if you're familiar with it. The relevance, that climbing a lot will add a lot of fatigue while you're trying to get fit. Read up about his "crash training". It sounds intense but the essence is you plan your weeks training within a couple of blocks so that you slowly drain the energy in a meaningful way so you end your week off with culminated fatigue. That's followed by a rest day or recovery rides before you start turning on the fatigue again. Depending on your fitness you can do two or three weeks of these "build" weeks before taking a recovery week, which still includes rides but allows your body to recover. Your body then supercompensates by "over recovery" This is also called peaking. It's easy to just go out without focus and go hard every day without a cause. But building your weak with a plan..intervals then easier days then climbing then easy then longer then longest etc. Then build those weeks into a block with recovery weeks inbetween and adjust as you get stronger. Im sorry you might be well familiar with this kind of training but it's so crucial (and fascinating)that I just put it out there. It will help way more than just climbing a lot. PM me if you're not familiar with it and I'll send you some info or help set up a plan.(this fatigue will also aid weight loss) Good luck!
  20. The Jackson brothers are legends, met them at a wedding a few years back.
  21. Nice topic to get it going again. Has it been the lack of events? All I know is that after going back and forth between the new and old air spring, I've found a great pressure and I haven't touched the thing since George Enduro last year. Probably due for a service soon. No Idea what that is though since my shockpump's dial is whack. I was just getting beat up badly on long rocky (Armageddon style) descends, and dropped the pressure by around 5 PSI. It sags slightly more now in the garage sag test, but once on the trail, I find it way more comfortable with better traction and the slow speed compression actually doing its thing
  22. Such great news that some passionate corporates are getting involved and so willing to give back, regardless of exactly how they are doing it. I'd love to help on build days, I might even put in a days leave if I can plan in advance. Although there will have to be many, its still great to get involved and its a show how passionate people are about our trails.
  23. you accidentally missed the jumps at the bottom!
  24. A little upgrade for my Enduro Machine.. The Pike up front suddenly looks very BLACK
  25. Oh my ! Who is that that went OTB? He only had a proper slam! The timing of that was also pretty critical and must have made it even harder.. Not easy to send a short kicker like that at 45km/h.. will pitch you OTB in no time.
