Ek wil graag 5 poste hier adverteer:- Dit is vir SONDAG se race. Die 5 gelukkige ouens sal deel uitmaak van my span. Die bevooregte ouens wat die vakature vul sal na verwys word as "domestiques" en hoewel seker engelse mense ook daarna verwys as "sacrificial lambs" moet julle nie daaraan steur nie..... 4 van die 5 poste is ouens wat moet voor ry en die bondel se gemiddelde spoed hoog hou. Onder geen omstandighede mag julle toelaat dat ek wind kry nie dit is baie NB. Indien dit sou gebeur dat ek `n pap wiel kry sal ek verwag dat een van julle vir my julle wiel sal gee terwyl die ander 3 my dan sal terug trek in die bondel in. Voel ook vry om my teen opdraendes op te stoot. Die 5de persoon is die "waterboy" en hy moet sorg dat almal se waterbottels vol bly. My taak is om seker te maak julle almal doen julle werk. Saam kan ons soveel meer bereik. Hierdie is `n wonderlike geleentheid vir 5 mense om bietjie "terug te sit in die sport in". Onthou, fietsry is die wenner aan die einde van die dag... Aansoeke sluit more aand 8PM. Laat die CV's begin inrol.... PS:- Indien daar meer as 5 aansoeke is sal ek oorweeg om die span te vergroot.

Jawel ek sou gehoop het die Casino doen bietjie moeite met `n "groter" expo. Mens wil graag die "vibe" kry soos by Argus en 94.7...... Maar nou ja daar is seker nie genoeg voete nie...

Wel niemand het gese dit gaan maklik wees nie. Hoe warmer die race hoe kouer die bier agterna.

Wel kom ons wees nou maar eerlik.... dit hang alles van die bondel af... As jou bondel 37km op die highway rol en mooi saamwerk gaan jy verseker sub 3 kan doen. As die bondel egter "lui" is en 34km average kan jy maar vergeet... Teen die tyd wat jy by die Golfbaan kom (+-75km) moet jou average 37 wees aangesien dit minder gaan wees die laaste 35km.......

Nee wag nog vir SMS. Hoe laat maak die expo oop vandag? Die wind is 10km per uur noord wes.......... Maw hy gaan jou kou die eerste 30km en dan dalk ook as jy terugkom van die lughawe af....

Insurance will be per number of athletes so that doesn't matter. A shirt doesn't cost R4,250. Anyways with the amount of non-finishers there will be plenty left of all sizes. Admin fee? To change a name? They only print the stickers the week before... I don't think this justifies not refunding any amount. Agree that if the event is sold out then subs should be allowed. Ask a admin fee if you must. I mean you have already made your money. Why not refund people but then accept the full entry of others? If I do get injured I wont even tell them... Why? SO they cant quickly put another guy in my place and make another R4,250 (cause I guarantee you they will).

I have not read through this whole thread but I would like to put the question the other way... Lets say I get injured in early Jan. I call IM and they say sorry the cut off date for the partial (20%) refund or whatever have gone so I lose my R4250 or whatever it was. Late entries or the waiting list however is still active. Do they now offer another athlete to compete as my slot has now opened up? If so then its harsh not to refund anything at all. I agree.... if entries are either sold out or full, allow an athlete withdrawing to find a sub if he can, ask an admin fee and replace him.... It should really not be that big an issue....

I wanted to but the last time I swam was in PE . Also I have run more than 50km's this week already so I am really tired. Well that 12 minute gap was probably due to the bunch... OFM is all about staying in a bunch and hoping there are a few brave workhorses infront...

CL. I did a 03h06. This year however I have done the Amashova so hopefully I am better prepared. I am stronger for sure but also not as lean as last year. Bloody interval training.... I swear it is impossible to be in the "perfect" shape. Gonna ride the route tomorrow just to check it out...........

Been riding it the last 2 years. Yes it makes a big difference. Lucas Steyn out also makes a big difference. Means you can give it all at Albrecht!! Have to get in under 3 hours.

Damn That was my favourite hill and a crowd favourite....... So now you basically can only get dropped at Albrecht.... So I will attack at the bottom of Naval hill to ensure I have a 200m head start when the hills start....

Well make it count when you do get out. I don't follow any program as it will be impossible. Therefore if I do get time and go for a 5km run and feel good I will push 15km if possible... Also I try and enter as many races as I can (cycle and run). This forces me to find time to train and the race in itself is training. Also most wife's and children tend to sleep on Saturday mornings at 04AM so I use these 4 hours to my advantage. Yes the day do get long come Saturday evening but that's the way its got to be... Also when you are really pressed for time on weekends and need to run, go and run at 11h30AM. In the heat of the day you get a better work out in less time.... Finally have realistic goals. Everyone's situation is different. Just cuz I wanna do a 11 hour IM it does not mean I will. I will adjust my goals as the season unfolds...............

I do lots of shopping. Recently I ordered something that Takealot did not have (or could not get). They phoned me and offered a refund and I took it...... I understand if you return an item to a shop that they will exchange it rather than refunding cold hard cash but surely if you buy something online and it is now suddenly out of stock they cannot force you to choose something else? Or am I missing something here? If I pay for something and don't receive it then want my money back end of story. Don't confuse online retailers with physical shops.
