  1. Dude PM me your email address. I will send you a few pointers etc. Just please take your time in deciding.
  2. Good luck.. Worse case scenario you can still swim and bike at Bela... If the run hurts then just stop....
  3. I just looked at the route profile and now I have "pinkeye"
  4. I am not even doing it and I am super nervous. Do you guys realize how much pain awaits in the Baviaans Kloof?? Legs and lungs burning will get a new meaning..... Your arse is going to literally fall off. Your body will start to shut down around lunch time. It cant be done..... PS:- I am in the market for an entry if anyone decides not to go....
  5. For how much is each bike insured? I am assuming its a MTB and Road Bike?
  6. http://www.gumtree.co.za/cp-beds-in-wynberg/1-2-of-a-bed-make-me-an-offer-512980267
  7. I have a theory If you insure 2 bikes it should be cheaper.... I mean if I have 1 bike it is easy to steal. Have you ever tried to move 2 bikes locked together let alone 3??
  8. In Bloem some people also cycle on the N1 (nie die verby pad nie let wel - eers as jy verby maselspoort gaan oppad tol hek toe) so some insurers have apparently refrained from paying claims due to "illegal" cycling practices. Wonder what life cover will do in the same circumstances... PS:- Keep that "eccentric" fellow away from this thread plz
  9. Just make a 100% sure of that. I got conflicting feedback regarding this. Some brokers say no one covers a road bike in racing events. Others say the LBS now does insurance.
  10. I already signed a R150 debit order for the SPCA. So I am still R100 short
  11. Yep they are going with!
  12. TT is one of the safest sports in or outside racing. You have to crash. Anyways whats the purpose of insurance if it is only partially insured?
  13. Exactly my point. It is expensive bit not fully covered. Fair not to cover road bikes in races due to bunches etc but TT and MTB? Stupid if you ask me...
  14. Yes.... Am I in der Scheiße??
  15. I met a German guy at Tri Abu Dhabi (fellow athlete ). We made an arrangement. He is staying with me for IM PE and then I will stay with him at Roth. Actually he lives in Cologne but that is close enough. Everything is sorted and hotels booked for both events. There are however some help here.... http://www.challenge-roth.com/en/praktische_infos/unterkunft.html Fortunately in Germany you are a quick train ride away from plenty of options....
  16. Ok so there is another 200 slots (final 200) up for grabs on 06 December 2013 if anyone is interested. Will be a mad scramble again so I suggest you get 10 volunteers all trying to enter for you at the same time...... So my entry is confirmed and I just bought plane tickets to Frankfurt and back via Lufthansa Airlines. We will also be staying in Paris at a hotel on the Champs Elysees the last weekend of July... Apparently there is some sort of bike race close by that weekend.....
  17. Well some of them are not that easy to spot...... but I guess that's probably because there are so few original Pinas on the road due to them costing R150k!
  18. I could say it was tongue in cheek and done on purpose but then I would be lying! Bwaaahahahahaha!!
  19. Yes they are fine. There are no guarantees however and with so many different factories, quality may vary..... After fixing your spelling (heading) also feel free to visit the chines carbon thread as well...
  20. Ok you smart people. Will this fit on my B-12? Where can I get it?
  21. Or use it to put your spares in.........
  22. Ok so I decided to take my bikes off insurance. 3 x bikes (Road/TT/MTB) Each cost R150 so that's R450 per month and this does not cover them during a race. If they get stolen at home (or from a house) they are still insured. So I need to take care in terms of when I drive somewhere. Lets hope nothing happens (as the last 13 years went past uneventfully) Problem is I never really use more than one bike at a time. Sounds silly but I mean in winter I only use the MTB so I pay a big premium for the other bikes I never use. In summer I only use my TT bike and then maybe ride one or two races with my RB. So why pay the premium for the road bike when I only race with it (and it is not covered in any case). I am opening a savings account and will deposit R400 per month into this as a bicycle fund account. If only I started doing this 13 years ago..... Don't jinx me please.
  23. Be a real man and do the whole race in your speedo. Also put some growth hormone on your upper legs so that the hair grows really fast.
  24. Well a cold is still fine. If you have any of the following do not train:- 1. Fever 2. Sore limbs 3. A resting heart rate of 10 beats faster than normal
