  1. Sounds like 140 - 150mm travel would be perfect for you. You could look at: Giant Reign Commencal Meta 5.5 Santa Cruz Blur LT Santa Cruz Butcher Specialized Stumpjumper FSR The list goes on... like Elan said - how much do you want to spend? O and don't discount the Giant Trance - it may only have 120mm of travel, but you can run a 140mm travel fork upfront without hassle, and it'll rip. You may even end up doing your XC riding on it...
  2. yeah for sure. i am convinced there are tons of riders waiting in the wings for a super D series...
  3. I have no idea if they did or not, and if they did and it failed, I would have no idea why...
  4. Pity we don't have a Super D / Enduro series in Cape Town, isn't it?
  5. in the clear as I got it right? bastards. I lied. I won't be a little jealous...
  6. if cpt is buying a Heckler, and cap a MetaAM, I am going to be just a little jealous. Just a little.
  7. let us know how well ventilated it is
  8. which element? The 29er you just posted the link to? you bastard
  9. yeah seen that Rocky Mountain at LBS. damn
  10. Chromoly 29er with no front derailler mount, ISCG tabs, Rock Shox Revelation 120mm travel with through axles both sides? I find this strangely appealing.
  11. I think MY personal worry would be wheels - I weigh 115kg and ride with little to no finesse - one of the best things about my bike are the rims - overly burly AlexRims SupraBH - designed as an entry level DH / FR rim, and I use it for trail / borderline AM riding - but I know it'll handle anything I throw at it. I am sure there are plenty burly 29er wheel options out there though, and if not I am sure the manufacturers are catching on, but then again 29er development up until now has been focussed on XC and marathon racers so who knows...
  12. fine for our trails though?
  13. didn't Carl Decker win a bunch of Super D races (and in actual fact, the series I think) on an Anthem 29er? doh!
  14. AFAIK those bikes haven't hit market yet - must have been someone testing or reviewing it...
  15. sweet. where was this? who was riding it?
  16. here are some delicious 29er full suss trailies, including the Rocky Mountain, the upcoming Commencal MetaAM 29, the upcoming PYGA OneTen, and the 135/140mm travel Spez Stumpy Evo 29er...
  17. I take just about everything bike mags say with a pinch, nay, a tablespoon of salt. A lot of manufacturers are dipping into the 120-13mm travel 29er market - I guess they're all wasting their money then, since these bikes are apparently going to suck on anything but a jeep track? the 29er discussion is played out - a fair amount of 29er riders are evangelists that proclaim them as the future of mountain biking, while a fair portion of 26er riders know every "fault" of the 29er platform off by heart... thankfully there are a few enlightened level headed blokes on both sides that just dig riding bikes now say what you want but that Rocky Mountain Altitude 970 29" (120mm travel) speaks to me.
  18. of course i want to! but what I want and what I can afford are 2 completely different things!

  20. Thanks for the reply! PM on its way
  21. Part of running an online shop is ensuring that the information on the site is correct, and specific. Allow me to clarify - you have the Truvativ Holzfeller listed on your site, available in 2 colours - black, and white (showing the 2012 versions). Both are listed with prices and "buy" buttons. The description below the image says "730mm width, 20 and 30mm rises" - the options next to the buy buttons simply list "700 / white" and "700 / black"... so which rise am I buying? Is it indeed 730mm wide, or is it 700mm wide? Do you in fact even have the 2012 bars in stock, since AFAIK they haven't arrived in the country yet (I have emailed the supplier before to try and get these bars), and if that's the case why are they listed on the site? I've also emailed Rush Sports not too long ago to enquire about the bars, but have not had a response. Not very inspiring stuff I'm afraid.
  22. Madvics - my bike weights 15.4kg and I weight 115kg. So be grateful for what you have
  23. the feature looks kick ass, but i'd prefer something with more vents
  24. nice - where did you order from?
  25. @Crackberry I had a Flux, loved it, but no stock in the WC @Thug I would love an urge, but they don't make it in my size (62cm)
