  1. Good specs vs price point. 67deg HA, Long top tube. Nice muted colours to complement the 'burly' nature in a sea of Cyan/Torquoise/Pink/Magenta/whatever colours previously found with baskets and ribbons... Rebirth of the mixed wheel scenerio. Nice and progressive from Silverback IMO.
  2. RS Rev. SLX/ XT Mix. Arch EX rims... hardly budget specs...
  3. The proprietary anti-twist internals (four triangular tracks running on the stanchion tube) is a plus. I believe they work very well.
  4. I have to agree. This actually puts me off getting one (or posts requiring similar).
  5. The cycle turns again... next it'll be Meridas... .
  6. It's a carbon frame though. Slightly more travel than the 110. The Maxx would run a 140mm fork of your choice, just like the std Stage doesn't have to run a RS1. But yes, their line up is getting bigger and the risk of cross over is a reality. My take on it: Stage - 29r Carbon marathon racer. Slacker geo than say, the Epic. Stage Maxx/ Trail - 29r Carbon trail/ everyday bike. Again, slack and low geo. 110 - 29r Alu option. 120 fork gives you a marathon/ everyday kinda bike. 140 puts it more trail based. Then you have the 650B models where the 120 is similar to the 110, the Pascoe your trail/ Enduro frame etc etc. They are firmly attacking the Spez Epic love affair SA riders have offering a more sensible option (geo wise) for most of these potential customers in the Stage. The Stage Maxx would be for those wanting a less race tuned bike - a carbon version of the 110 perhaps. As I said. My take. Pretty sure Mr PYGA has a firm grip on what not to do given previous experiences.
  7. Smarts won that for Kulhavy. He knew he had to have a gap coming into the final tech sections. Stuck it to Schurter mentally on that tough climb and sailed home. Super race.
  8. Great build. Many happy kms.
  9. Fighting talk that...
  10. Haha. There'd be a serious bottle neck of riders behind me if I attempted it on that. Bleak to miss it. Done most of them in the past. It's a super race on truly underrated trails.
  11. Pity it's in the same weekend as the KZN Champs Enduro and DH...
  12. Nah. I won't be on a PYGA for sometime... going back to a hardtail.
  13. Also understand it this way. Had a look at the Trail/ Max/ whatever they're calling it yesterday. Very very nice bike. Sensible choice for the majority of one bike riders.
  14. ...and maintain stock...
  15. Would be my choice over the Stage95
  16. I've run mine slightly differently. It runs up the left of the fork and then across to the right behind the fork crown, around the lower BB cup and up to the brake lever... For some reason it's the perfect length and doesn't touch the frame or BB cups. Just works.
  17. PYGA Stage Max... yoh! That's all I'm saying...
  18. Awesome. I will be at this one. Cannot wait. Will we be able to ride the stages on Friday?
  19. Presumably Midlands Cycling helped out then. Good on them.
  20. Woolcock/ Lill still listed as winning under Team Blend but raced the whole race in Midlands Cycling kit?...
  21. Cascades Morning Ride...
