I also rode that Clarens. I still get tears in my eyes when I think about it. Was my first marathon. I still had SPD's then. That did NOT work out well for me. The Egg Beaters don't clip in as easily as the spd's. I sometimes have to search for them a little (maybe I'm just daft). They do clip out easily tough, shed mud very well and have plenty float (biggest plus for me) and have never unclipped by accident.

The only pedals I have used that don't cause knee pain is Egg Beaters. They have more float tan most.

Do we have anything like this (or super-D) in Gauteng?

I'm usually between a large & XL bike and always ride a large because the XL just feels too bulky. My previous bike, a 26"DS, was quite small for a large and although I usually enjoy standing and pedaling, it was very uncomfortable on this bike. I'm back on a 29" DS with a little longer wheelbase. Now standing is fun again!

What did you end up using?

MTN Clarens last year. It was emotional. Not fit enough and mud for just about the whole 80km.

I'm not arguing that it is better than evox. I would just like to why "you know you get the best". Are their blenders better quality stainless steel or do their products have better micro counts? The raw materials usually come from the same few international manufacturers. Their casein product does taste awesome by the way. I just fail to see why they "are the best". Good product and awesome work from their marketing department would be my guess.

Dommisse, the way in which something like sugar gives an insulin spike is not really debatable... It is a fact. The effect this has on health and fat burning is also a fact. Please send me some links of credible info that states otherwise.
