I found a new (still sealed in bag) set of XO trails for 2.6k.. such a luck!! I've been told they perform well by others, especially for their weight but when it comes down to needing to stop on long verticals fade might be an issue, there are stronger options.. I see the X9's on CRC are just over 3. - bargain -

What happened to the sheriff, skip town? I can appreciate that these are good brakes (they sure look'it )but I found new 4-pots for under 3k.. AVID

Thanks for the positive comments all! We will start revisiting the other Snake trails and Cobra's stone berm as soon as Boomslang is rideable (next) and tweak the few areas still needing attention. The stone berm still needs about an hour and a few of the right shape rocks at the exit. This should make the overall Snake trail quite enjoyable. Mamba's bite (North Shore) is going to be interesting, surprise coming.

If you do use Stans filled tubes, carry a plastic bag with you. Slime filled tubes don't naturally grow in the wild, so it IS amazing how many are picked off bushes 5m from the trail. I get that people don't want the stuff dripping down their back, so carry a bag! I am having a severe case of humour failure with the amount of tubes being pulled off the mountain. No more, please.
