  1. What happened to Rebeccas McConnells form? Fading towards the end of the season or planning to peak for world champs?
  2. I would like to see the entry breakdown of the mtb stage race entries. Foreigners vs Corporate entries vs Private entries…
  3. Haha thanks. You can PM me some details if you want to 😁
  4. Keeping on topic, does anyone have a decent set of golf clubs for sale? Asking for a friend…
  5. It does not make sense that 2 different sensors are doing this. Is there not an issue with the gps/head unit? What unit are you using? *edit, read the op again, sorry. I would buy a new bicycle
  6. Definitely a downgrade to NX.
  7. Yes also my thinking. What a like is that the extra money in the bond is available in emergencies. Agreed that the car interest rates are higher, so will tackle them harder.
  8. Need some advice/opinions please. Is it better to push extra payments into house bond or car loans? I am really on a mission te get rid of all debt, but not sure what is the best sequence in going at it? (To stay on topic, my cycling budget has been severely hampered by the fuel price and increase in interest rate)
  9. Chris Froome DNS
  10. Zwift. RGT also an option, but I prefer the interface and stability of zwift. RGT races are also less with less participants compared to zwift.
  11. Interesting topic. Apart from the multi stage events which average above R1000 pp per day, these include some sort of catering and accommodation. What’s up with all the “extreme” one day events that are priced above R1000 for the event. No accommodation, lunch, nothing. Just a race entry and maybe a t shirt. Will events be able to grow in numbers at these entry fees, or are organisers making enough profit/breaking even as is? Personally I need to choose my events way more carefully, as a weekend (single stage race) can easily cost R5000 taking fuel and accommodation into consideration. Really is becoming a luxury sport.
  12. Have a look at buzz racks as well. Great value for money. Very happy with mine.
  13. If it is muddy, wet, sandy, I’d rather be on my mtb anyway😁
  14. Thanks. Yes definitely something to consider. I will check if I can at least clean and lube the freehub etc without opening the actual unit
  15. Hi. Please advise on service suggestions for my Elite suito trainer? Is it something I can do myself or better to send it away to nsquared? I do all the work on my bicycles myself, but have not stripped the trainer yet.
  16. As a road bike weight weenie, i will have to fork out a lot of money to get a disk road bike to match/beat my current 6.8kg rim brake 11 speed etap setup with 28mm tires. So I am happy for now… i cannot justify the cost/benefit for a disk bike at the moment.
  17. Would you mind sharing gpx files please? We are heading that direction next weekend and would appreciate some trial options? Staying at magalies park for a week, so any routes/options would be ideal. Only taking my mtb. Anything between 40-100km. Thanks!
  18. I can guess that there still is a challenge in finishing an ultra event on an ebike. Managing effort/batteries etc on such a long event and to see if the bike/man/battery combo can finish in one piece. Humans always seem to find the next challenge. The real challenge to organisers and participants is to let some sun shine on all and to keep the ebikes from interfering with the overall results.
  19. Nope, I am saying the outcome could have been different. In the end it was self navigating, so the wrong turn should not be an excuse. Maybe the lead bike should have stayed with the normal riders?
  20. Haha, have you tried navigating on singletrack while racing for the win? Not so easy. It was also stated that route marking (where they were made) overrules gps routing. They then wrongly followed a trial run marking. Very easy to do after racing since 2 Am. Anyway, I feel sorry for them. Such is racing?
  21. Jarrad's team was leading the race. When the ebikes came past, the lead motorbike stayed with the ebikes team. Jarred's team unfortunately made a navigational error, losing the race in the last few km after 13 hours of racing. Had the lead motorbike stayed with Jarreds team, they would not have ventured of course. I would be angry.
  22. There were no other ebikes closeby. They should not have mixed with the top 2 regular teams. Like mentioned, the race outcome could be different if they had not interfered. I do not understand why they had to prove they could win the normal teams.
  23. This. We raced the last 8km to make it to the finish before dark. Just made it. Hats off to the teams who had to ride that last part in the dark.
  24. Haha well said. Agreed, my body wanted none of that last singletrack and muddy puddles… Had a sense of humor fail there. My body shot though. But looking at the photos, I am already forgetting the hard parts and looking forward to a possible 2023 entry😂
  25. The weather was great. Umkomaas drop was amazing. Would not be possible to finish without a great backup driver. For now, I never want to see a bicycle again.
