  1. Haha, have you tried navigating on singletrack while racing for the win? Not so easy. It was also stated that route marking (where they were made) overrules gps routing. They then wrongly followed a trial run marking. Very easy to do after racing since 2 Am. Anyway, I feel sorry for them. Such is racing?
  2. Jarrad's team was leading the race. When the ebikes came past, the lead motorbike stayed with the ebikes team. Jarred's team unfortunately made a navigational error, losing the race in the last few km after 13 hours of racing. Had the lead motorbike stayed with Jarreds team, they would not have ventured of course. I would be angry.
  3. There were no other ebikes closeby. They should not have mixed with the top 2 regular teams. Like mentioned, the race outcome could be different if they had not interfered. I do not understand why they had to prove they could win the normal teams.
  4. This. We raced the last 8km to make it to the finish before dark. Just made it. Hats off to the teams who had to ride that last part in the dark.
  5. Haha well said. Agreed, my body wanted none of that last singletrack and muddy puddles… Had a sense of humor fail there. My body shot though. But looking at the photos, I am already forgetting the hard parts and looking forward to a possible 2023 entry😂
  6. The weather was great. Umkomaas drop was amazing. Would not be possible to finish without a great backup driver. For now, I never want to see a bicycle again.
  7. What an experience! Hardest day on a bicycle for me. Riding through singletrack in the pitch dark with only your light was amazing. Route was amazing. But for an ultra endurance race, the route is brutal. Almost no “free km’s”. Our official time was just over 15 hours. Just made it to the beach during the last minutes of sunlight. hats off to the guys who had to do the last part in the dark, as the flooding created many ruts and deep landslides. Very dangerous during the night. was cold during part 1, somewhere reached -6 degrees C. Vibe was awesome. support vehicle played a crucial part in finishing this race. Brutal day out on the bike!
  8. +1 on riser block. I always rode without n riser block under the front wheel on the idt. Tried it once and never looked back. Much more comfortable with the riser block.
  9. On strava it shows that he crashed. Not sure about the details
  10. What would be the benefit of a Gaggia classic pro over a Breville Barista Express (my current machine). What are the benefits of the 58mm group head an 3 way solenoid valve for an average joe like me? Would it be an upgrade?
  11. I am here to pick up tips for the sani2c non stop, so please continue😁
  12. I am not sure how the clamp looks, but try cutting an old tube to the same width as the clamp. Then insert the cut tube (single layer) between the bars and the clamp. It def helped with my Xeccon light.
  13. Yes, race pro is 60g per serving (3 scoops i think), but then you put 3-4 servings in a single bottle. ( I have done Up to 12 scoops in a single 750ml bottle). You then drink this bottle over the duration of the ride. Carb intake sorted. then your other bottle is to sort hydration intake (water and electrolytes). Racepro also has protein in.
  14. Yes, that is the whole purpose of race pro. You add you whole rides required carbs in the single bottle. Then continue drinking it through the ride. No gels/food required as they don’t recommend mixing the carb types. I have made a bottle for a 4 hour ride. I think it was about 12 scoops. Was a thick mixture, but still tasty even when warm. I found I never hit a hunger patch and felt stable throughout the ride. In my other bottle I use 2 tablets of hydration. It works for me. Especially on the mtb. Races shorter than 3 hours I use the 32gi race and gels to get my carb intake right.
  15. I am also a huge fan if 32 gi race pro for any rides longer than 2.5 hours. Just makes the nutrition plan so much simpler. Cost wise it is actually cheaper per ride compared to say 3 bottles of cadence, 3 gels and 3 bars (3 hours ride and similar amount of carbs)…
  16. We have 3 spots open in our team. Feel free to contact me if you want to join us tomorrow… Aiming for around 5 hours race time.
  17. Why is this thread so quiet? Weather looks great for tomorrow 😂
  18. What was the verdict on the original suspension? Was the B sample positive or negative?
  19. Thanks yes I read about an issue with the gx cassettes on those specific gears. I have not unleashed the dremel on it though…
  20. Thanks! Some stupid questions from my side: 1. With initial adjustments, do you refer to the b gap settings? 2. Do you count sprockets starting from the 50t or the 10t? 3. Please clarify the derailleur set up in the middle sprockets?
  21. Ordered yesterday, thank you! Will report back once installed if it seals the hole that the ryder sealant wouldn’t…
  22. Will double check, but almost sure it is correct, thanks
  23. I am struggling with my gx axs setup. Instructions from sram says to do micro adjustment with chain on second cog from the top. If i get it to run silent on the second cog from the top, I get lousy shifting between the 9,10 and 11th cogs from the top. Also a very annoying ticking sound on the 4th smallest cog (possibly the gx cassette). If I di the micro adjustment to sort the noise out on the smaller gears, the shifting is terrible on the largest 2 cogs. derailleur hangar is brand new, but is it possibly misaligned to cause this issue?
  24. I want to try Enduroseal. Where is the best place to buy it? Our lbs does not sell it.
  25. Thread revival. After many years of using stans with zero punctures, I tried ryder sealant with a brand new set of Ikons. left me stranded during a race on saturday. Had to plug a pin hole leak, as the sealant just could not seal it. Not impressed at all. Sealant sprayed everywhere. Stopped and kept the hole on the bottom so sealant could seal it, but as soon as i started riding it leaked again. First time ever I had to use a plug on such a small hole.
