Getting off the Springbok topic a bit, did anyone see the incident where the Griquas player broke his ankle. Watch how Tim Whitehead comes in from the side to make the tackle exactly how de Allende did for WP against the Lions. The TMO had also been consulted to see if it was a try or not. Now where was the yellow card for Whitehead and the Penalty try for Griquas MR Andre Watson?

I think everyone is missing a huge point here. Who says he only advertised on the hub? He could have advertised on twenty different sites. I am with the seller on this one his number was in the advert. What do you think he well get first a call on his phone or a reply on the internet? Maybe the first three people to see the product advertised first, phoned straight away and didn't reply dibs on the product.

I was also in the Vets bunch, the problem was that the year before they put the vets and the sub vets together. This year they split them and the group was not big and strong enough to stay away from A. Now I am probably going to be shot down for this but if they are going to split the vets and sub vets again next year they might as well leave the sub vets group out altogether or they have to make a longer time split between the groups so that A doesn't catch us before Smits. If they do split the two groups next year without a longer time between groups then I am going down to A or B. (probably B as I don't want to be in A and be up the back side of the sub vets) Before A caught us I was near the front of the sub vets after about 5 minutes after they caught us they pushed most of us near the back. The yo yo affect was crazy twice I came to a stop and had to unclip just after Simonstown. Having 400 cyclist (132 sub vets +270 A) going through those narrow roads was not a nice place to be.

That's why I don't do the dishes.

It has now changed to the weekend of the 23 November as the October date was the same time as the Pioneer Trek. All the websites have still to be changed.

Well one thing is for sure the Kings had better attendance in their first year than the Lions ever had. Not saying that they should be there just saying they are putting bums on seats.

With that budget I would go with this option you can get a 1 or 2 year old bike with good parts. As Skistar says not too much goes wrong with road bikes. Nearly everyone has fallen with a MTB bike but not too many road bikes have crashed. Check the frame for signs of a fall and if nothing its good to go. I would look at a second hand Giant TCR with Ultegra you can't go wrong with that.

Same story you would lose probably 3 minutes on a one kilometre climb. I find lighter wheels are also a lot easier when climbing technical climbs they tend to "pop" more easily over rocks.

Sorry don't agree with this. Reading one of the bike mags it stated that for every kilometre of climbing you can make up 20 seconds for every 500grams you are lighter (sorry don't know what gradient they were taking about). Now I can't see you making that kind of time up on a down hill. I have race wheels AC Race and the standard Syncros that came with my spark 910 its a 1kg saving and I can tell you there is a huge difference. Routes that I normally ride I see a big difference in my times and that's all the proof I need.

Wheels and tyres have to be number one. Got myself a scott 910 last year with the standard wheels with xt rotor, xt cassette and maxis lust tyres (wanted to put on the lust as I use these as my training wheels now). Then got the AC race wheels with xtr cassette and rotors with Ikons this setup took almost exactly 1kg off the bike.

I think this whole issue is not about if (or when) this guy gets knocked off his bike and killed. The issue is how motorists see us cyclists. How many motorists will ever drive past this guy, hundreds maybe thousands and I will bet my life on this more than half will be thinking what a faarking chop! Thats where the problem lies, this guy is giving the rest of us a bad name. How many times have you been somewhere and you speaking to someone and they hear you cycle and they say "ja but you guys think you own the road". I don't have a problem with what Hairy did, next time hit him with a baseball bat for all I care.

Sorry I do not agree with you, taxis are a law untoo themselves. Here in Ceres you can be riding deap single file in the yellow lane and the most vehicles will give you a wide berth if there is nothing coming from the front. Most taxis on the other hand will see how close they can get to the yellow line even when there is nothing coming from the front. Now why they do this I do not know mabe lack of drivers license or they just don't care, its a toss up. I agree accidents do happen but why is it, that the most horrific ones are mostly comitted by taxis.
