  1. The only other advice I have is that they share office space with a company called Danavox (hearing aids and stuff), so maybe google them and try and get a number out of them. I tried to look for my invoice, but no joy. EDIT: just saw that fluidlines domain name is registered to danavox, so it should help.
  2. Already time for pre registration for 5150 Bela Bela (only about 300days to go )...I wonder if there will be some other 2012 SA venues?
  3. I've bought from them before with no hassles. I also have a friend that fitted and purchased a trisuit from them last week without issues. They are based in Strand - I don't have contact details sorry. Look at www.capemulti.co.za as well. I've bought stuff from them as well and Ana (dos Santos) is very helpful.
  4. I also saw an update that it will be in Worcester. That program is quite old and have been doing the rounds quite a bit.
  5. I prefer these: Hammer fizzies I won't say they are better or worse, but cheaper and SLIGHTLY easier to use ("pill" vs sachet).
  6. Waht about R14k and have your eyes lazered?
  7. Pretty slick - would like your details of import duties & VAT. I know it has been explained to death, but always good to get an actual, recent example.
  8. I'm still keen to order by the weekend if we can get to ~R3000. Mine will be R850.
  9. I think this order went off already, but I'm looking to order around R800 as well. Start building a Cape Town pool until we get free shipping?
  10. Did anyone go to this - I missed out. Anything good?
  11. RE; swimming in WF canals: That's correct. You have to swim with ATC in their caps. See link
  12. I think Total Immersion uses this pool for its lessons.
  13. Jip sea point pool still there. Salt water (not sea water) which I prefer (to chlorine). Also in summer you can swim in the Waterfront canals. From opposite the Audi garage to One and Only and back. Think it is about 1500m

    BSG Rules

They will be illegal for any road bike race and BSG (draft legal), but legal for IM70.3 and IM (draft legal)
  15. I've heard about this section. how long is this section and how is it to ride it?
  16. Do they take Credit Cards? Any Warranty?
  17. Wanted Jawbones, saw myself in them today - moving to split-jackets.
  18. Hi Hub, I'm looking for Oakley Split Jackets and was wondering where the best place to buy is in your opinion. I've checked CWC, Cyclelab and Sunglasshut. At the moment I don't have an opportunity to get someone to buy it in the US, so I'm looking for SA options - online or otherwise.
  19. For Cape Town folk - this is old news, but you can take advantage of early bird registration here and at a couple of upcoming races. R350 early bird and R450 otherwise.
  20. Ivan Basso's
  21. My advice on the run (as with most things) is to build up slowly. Don't go to far to quickly. It's on the run where you'll pick up injuries and you will not be able to reach your goals. My advice is to combine speed/tempo runs in the week with a long run over the weekend. On the long run, run slowly HR (140/145-ish depending on your zones) and only increase the time and or distance by 10% per week. Have a rest week every 4-5weeks. In that rest week you can do a 6 - 8km time trial to track your progress. In summary - get a good, solid base!
  22. Interesting. It will be good to know how they will police that. Webbed gloves etc. I have seen blueseventy socks (not booties), and training gloves - these will be banned though. Otherwise diving socks and gloves . Both of these gives me a feeling that you'll go slower! Ito hoodie, I've seen an Orca one on www.capemulti.co.za. Ana is very helpful there and maybe she can chat to her suppliers about the hand and feet issue.
  23. Interesting approach. From all the advice I've had (as I had the same approach as you), everyone has said you can't win an IM in the swim ,but you can lose it. I.e. if you're not fit enough for the swim, you get out of the water too tired and you pay on the bike and run? Also beginners have a bad technique and then the swallow (sea) water, making them sick. If you throw up, you're buggered as you will have to "refuel" in the bike.
  24. We are flying. Hard bike case (bike safe). EL is farking far to drive! I'm sure you can rent one. I saw an ad for R500 on the hub
  25. My opinion as well. PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you some more details I got when I joined.
