  1. CFBM, that is interesting! I always thought I could upgrade my 190x42.5 to something like a 190x52
  2. Ok lekker!Plan is to ride Helderberg tomorrow after work, GSpot on Thursday and Jonkers Saturday. If you guys are riding any of those days I would love to join you. Sal jou my nommer gou PM
  3. Cool, already got the pink slip for the Hoogekraal event, Jonkers is a bit too close to W2W. I will be the noob with my flannel check shirt, I heard they are quite the fashion item for #EnduroBro
  4. Just out of interest sake, how long do these events take? I need to put time aside with the wife/kids, normally on a XC event I know what I'm in for, but Enduro? No clue.
  5. And grip wise? I would prefer which ever has more grip
  6. Dit vat net een drol in die drink water.
  7. but then I will be forced to start saving for a Fox Float 36 with orange decals....
  8. So want to get my own pair of pedals, been bumming Otero's Saints for too long. Don't want to spend a arm and a leg on this, but my options are down to Crankbrothers Stamp 2 - R1200 at BuyCycle OneUp Comps - I see the orange ones are on sale for R599, other are R999 Kore Rivera - R1000 at DirtMerchant Seems like OneUp's are the way to go? I wear a size 11, and the bigger the platform the better I guess. And then there are these ones in the classifieds? https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/363005-kore-black-flat-pedals/
  9. First ride after BoneCrusher. Legs are still feeling it. Awesome ride though.
  10. iPhone 6 - Strava 81.56km 1903m Apple 3 Watch - Outdoor Cycle workout 80.27km 1654m Not sure why the big discrepancy, but I have seen my friends' Strava profiles for the race, all of us have different values. Race was great though, pity I bonked a bit after about 65km. Being sick the week before didn't help much. Also need to get a proper nutrition gameplan going. Eating a JungleOat peanut butter bar every hour doesn't cut it.
  11. Just out of interest, how many calories/kj do you take in when you ride that far? I rode the BoneCrusher yesterday, watch said I burned 18000KJ? Surely it’s impossible to fuel that for an endurance race?
  12. Yeah its a pitty. My wife is picking up 4 numbers on Wednesday. We live in Helderberg and have to mission through to Tygervallei to get our numbers. Looking forward to the event though. DBX rarely disappoints
  13. ^^ This You can ask Nissan to bend your exhaust 45 degrees towards the road.
  14. Lekker Reme! Better late than never. Next shuttle day is on you ????
  15. Glad I read this post. Also wanted to do this event as an entry into the enduro side of things. Great that the EWC events are still an option for a newbie. Lekker.
  16. Today my bike took me to the dirt bin at Helderberg. Since getting my flats I’ve been riding like a complete lunatic and trying things way above my current skill level. Backpack saved my bacon tonight. Still awesome fun though. Flats make me go faster ????
  17. Wont it be better to use something like Aramex Global Shopper when ordering from CRC?
  18. @Delarey are you the guy we met at the bottom of GSpot on Thursday? You said you’re doing your first enduro this weekend. You’re on an Evil if I’m not mistaken. Glad you enjoyed it! Anywho. Want to enter the on that Dirtopia is hosting on the 19th of May. How long do these events take?
  19. I must say, I have been playing around with Saints/V12's and my 2FO shoes. I love it! Took some time to get my feet not to leave the pedals when I go over jumps, still happening now and then when I am not 100% committed/concentrating. Feels like I definitely have more speed in the corners and it feels as if I have overall better balance on the bike when jumping etc. Can feel the difference when climbing, but I don't see myself going back to clipless unless I am doing a 50km+ ride. Just waiting for my trail helmet to arrive and then going to build up the confidence for the GSpot road gap. amper daar.
  20. After my second ride out at Element/GSpot I must say, it does get a bit easier. Someone above mentioned pointing your toes when taking off. The combination of that, keeping my legs more relaxed and making a conscious effort to preload my bike before the takeoff has made all the difference. No where near to where I was with the cleats, but each outing is getting better. Looking forward to Jonkers tomorrow!
  21. Nice after work ride to kick off the long weekend
  22. This is what I plan to do, want to get my skills up a bit and its obvious that flats make it way more apparent. Will put on my SPDs for the races
  23. loool, fair enough:P Don't want to drag your flawless reputation through the mud
  24. mmm, so that's a real thing, was considering wearing one of my lumberjack check shirts now that I've gone EnduroBroTM
