  1. Out of JHB - not sure if they only do online sales, don't think so, but it's what I did, since I'm based down south.
  2. Drop Jerrard at www.singlespeed.co.za a line (jerrard@singlespeed.co.za) - bought my Blackspire from them, and they're super helpful with all queries as well!
  3. Ja actually there's a bit of irony in critisizing the Yanks for being stooopid in having a "world" series when only they play, since it's technically correct....
  4. Pm HeartCoppi to have a looksie... Whatever you do, wait a while - there are plenty of Hubbers who have an interest in the old-skool stuff, and will be able to give some valuable input! Just BUMP this thread a few times... And good luck! Btw - need a say it: Irrespective of your decision, if there ain't pics - it didn't happen!
  5. Cool beans... Naturally, I will claim that it's the job of a modder to ask the silly questions that others are too embarrassed to ask...
  6. Condolences to your family. Sad news indeed.
  7. Admin - what be the difference between a "lined" and "un-lined" windbreaker? Pls enlighten those wardrobe-retarded amongst us!
  8. Finally... the last pieces of the build arrived today! Should get to it during the course of next week.... Will pop up some pics as she comes along!
  9. Hello All, Just picked up my RM/SAPO package - see the notification was sent out on 20 April 2011 - but was on vacation, so I only picked it up today... That puts it in at +/- 20 days from date of order, which is really not bad imo. Guess I will be using it again on smallish items With this being said - I'm lucky in that my local SAPO is run by two Tannies who have been there for ages...
  10. Mumford & Sons - Little Lion Man... Never thought I'd see the day that an electric banjo becomes part of what I'd be listening to... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLJf9qJHR3E
  11. Spike Erasmus... Countless Springboks/Stormers/Maties etc. rugby players surely can't be wrong?
  12. Welcome to the Hub. The classifieds section would be your best bet. Not sure about why you're having no luck - but I've flagged this with Admin, so expect an answer soonish. Happy Hubbing.
  13. Condolences to the family... A (albeit) very small sliver of comfort must surely be that at least it haapened whilst doing what he loved? The (sadly) cynical side of me had a thought that the RAF people are no doubt very relieved (assuming the heart-attack theory to be correct) that this would not give rise to (another) multi-million Euro claim against the fund....
  14. +1 - I'd spend an extra R100 to get my name on it! Oh wait - I'm a mod - will probably get stoned at the next race meeting....
  15. +1 to this idea... Would be cool to have a t-shirt option!
  16. No-brainer on the Fox over the Dart. Good tip that about activating the magnet before the rough stuff, though. Enjoy the build!
  17. Shame on you Slowbee - I would never, ever stoop to something as low as that in suggesting that I also have my eyes on some Hope Pro 2 hubs, black.
  18. Hello all, Thought I'd pop up a brief account of excellent service received from CWCycles Online... Took part in my 1st Hub/CWC auction towards the end of last week. I 'won' the bid on a pair of Castelli(?) bibshorts - 3XL nogal - at R450. Took a bit of back and forth between PM's and Status Updates - but eventually got hold of Chris via email. Straight off the bat, he told me they'd made a mistake, and accidentally sold the Bibs instore. He immediately offered me a bibshort retailing at slightly more than double the price (ZeroRH+), One of Italy's Finest made in Albania, which I happily accepted. He also suggested I go a size smaller. A few days later, and several helpful emails in between, and the bibshorts arrived this afternoon - having been dispatched this morning! It fits a treat - glad I took the size advice, and looks the shizzle in red! Once again, well done CWC - and a big thumbs up to their online Hub auctions!

    bib choice

+1 on the Vermarc. Loving mine. Also Had the "Series" bib as well - which IIRC(??) used the Assos chamois(??) - was also one of my favourites until a huge off at Meerendal took care of them ... First Ascent never really fitted me that well - but comfy enough. HOWEVER - I've had to have the stitching around the chamois re-done twice, which really annoys me... As mentioned - you'll get countless opinions though. Bibshorts are probably as personal a choice as a saddle is. And a groupset. And a fork/shox. And a frame. And a... And a 26" vs 29" wheelchoice...
  20. Velly, Velly naaice!
  21. That be hotness! Pity about the top cable routing though!
  22. +1 on what Mr. Brundson said - you might want to lose those bullhorn/bar-ends though - will instantly make your bike look 5 years younger ! For the rest, looks to be in good nick - so reckon you've got your value for money! Ride it hard - and reward yourself in 6 months/a year from now, when you're sure the bug has bitten, with what you really want! Happy riding - don't fuss about it - just ride!
