  1. Black shorts… 👏 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DAsqs1-upFu/?igsh=aG1hZmFmMmJrNGVy
  2. Time for a new (rear) shifter cable... 20,710km after replacing the last one. Luckily the route passed close enough to home to allow a bike swap.
  3. My "plastic" bike (2007) is on the IDT, while I ride/race a steel (road) frame bike, so I'm no weight-weenie. I agree that the TCX is convenient for the hybrid rides, but there are better (gravel bike) options if the bug bites (even in aloominum).
  4. Gravel Worlds, this weekend. Some big names on the start list, including 40-odd from RSA (across all categories). 292 men elite riders… bigger than a Grand Tour peloton. https://gravelchampionshipsflanders.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/207/2024/10/W2024_1129-Startlijst-1.pdf
  5. Yes. scroll back to the maps Jaco shared. It shows the water points as stars 🌟 on the map.
  6. Added in some additional info; at least from my own experience of owning one. 😊😂
  7. Thanks. I see your link is different to the link I was using. Not sure why there would be two website links with different information. Before I click on Enter Now, I would want to view all details.
  8. Last year they allowed it, but not licensed categories.
  9. There are a few things to consider: 1. Older road frames had a limit on tyre width for frame clearance, so the internal rim width was limited too. As new road frames change to accommodate wider frames, so too are rim widths getting wider. 2. If you put a wider tyre on a narrower rim, it will result in a tyre that bulges/balloons, and likewise, with a narrower tyre on a wider rim.
  10. Are these routes from the organiser, or your own? Last year, the aerials loop is clockwise, and you are showing it as counter-clockwise.
  11. I think Karen might be happy about this… declutterring segments https://strava.app.link/ir9efWN5mNb
  12. The last monument of the year, Il Lombardia, after a few warmup rides for the WC.
  13. It depends... if I was in Indiait would be yes or no. Note: It's a joke
  14. And he doesn't just train for/race one race per year.
  15. On two other sports-related forums (one public, the other requiring a monthly contribution), there is no moderation (except for spam bot posts) and everything is hunky dory. Some people get upset, but others are quick to help translate the intended message and the perceived unhappiness is forgotten.
  16. Got some polka dots this morning, virtual ones at least... some feel good miles after a week away south of Jozi (600Km SE).
  17. Hard luck, perhaps it would have been a nightmare with some many others on a tight course. You'll never know.

  19. So weather that Pog thrives in 👍 Good luck for your event.
  20. @SwissVanWhat’s the weather looking like for Sunday? Hot or not?
  21. It was a tyresome journey, possibly requiring NSBB to tread carefully at the end.
  22. As the N3 at Van Reenen was still closed today, I decided to drive the route used to cycle to Durban around Amashova time. Some stunning views of what is usually dry bushveld, replaced by snow. This one below was on the N3 at the Hidcote off-ramp, just before Mooiriver.
  23. I have two friends that managed to get their left side cranks swapped out. They used 4iiii's FedEx option to send the faulty units in, and have a new unit returned (out of warranty). My original purchase (2016) is still working, but a local classifieds deal is no longer working, so will need to process a swap.
  24. I'm headed "South" for a week... to the only place in SA that doesn't have winter as a season. No bike, no golf clubs, but maybe some (jogging) tekkies. I plan to use one of my rest weeks on Vitality. edit: south as in SE.
