  1. Eagle Gx Upgrade kit Pleeeeezzzeeee. I missed the last one!
  2. Unless you eat badly forget about multivitamins&viralguard&immun-whatever pills unless placebo is important to you. None of these things work at all except in your mind and the components that may help in them are likely in far too small a dose. Likely these will just be peed down the toilet or poison you (yes some vitamins can poison you in high doses - food almost never does this - makes you think). There is some good evidence that garlic (not overcooked) in higher doses can help for colds - aged garlic pills are easier to take- but not too high doses or it can also poison you! https://examine.com/rubric/effects/view/564/Rate+of+Sickness/all/ If you are losing a lot of magnesium through sweating you may also have a deficiency so supplementation may be useful in the correct dose. Zinc may also be lost through sweat so Zma is an option but again the correct dose is key - not too little or too much https://examine.com/supplements/Zinc/ https://examine.com/supplements/Magnesium/ The other advice has been covered to an extent in other posts here but I repeat. 1) Stay away from crowds in small areas and people who are sick esp cars with air cons - dont shake hands! Especially after training In the case of big exertions eg big races immune system can be suppressed up to two weeks! 2) A once yearly flu shot definitely reduces incidence of flu imo (but not colds or other diseases) 3) Recovery is key, sleep quality, eating natural high quality proteins AND carbs frequently, stress reduction. Concentrated fish oil pills (correct dose again!) or eating oily fish at least twice a week helps with recovery and has many other proven health benefits. 4) Increasing training in small quantities and taking recovery weeks after three weeks training (two if older)
  3. Anton at Cyclelab organises a fairly fast road ride every Sunday am, and at other times. He can point you to other groups I am sure. There are lots. Cyclelab changing name to The Bicycle Company.
  4. The training plan might be ok generally but be bad for him depending on age, genetics, nutrition, health, stress, sleep etc and it does not seem to have a rest week (much reduced time on bike) after every two or three weeks full tap. If your legs feel shattered every time you ride you cannot train efficiently you need to take a rest week (or two ) ASAP like now don't wait for the week before Argus!. Reduce volume maybe to even less than half and possibly also intensity. Read Joe Friel's blogs on twitter or buy one of his books!
  5. This works for me - polar straps better than garmin, with garmin pick up device clicked in.
  6. Hi Jeroen Very excited by the news of your light citrus flavour as I love the science behind your products BUT they are tooooo sweet and some tooooo artificial tasting for me (cant figure out how anyone over 8 yrs can drink 100% fake creme soda flavour never mind on a long ride when my taste receptors are heightened 5 times and anything sweet makes me feel NAUSEOUS as hell! ). BUT I cant find it! Our two local stockists don't have it and cwc has Carbofuel "citrus" is this the light and is it less SWEET? No Marathon Citrus! I am using USN Purefit (tho I dislike all USN products prior to this range, and I just dislike the company!). Is it not better to make a new range that is natural and less SWEET and less KIDS 100% FAKE TASTING flavours???? COME ON MAN we want to support you and your products but we must be able to find them to buy! PLEASE! Cheers Colin
  7. I am Astigmatic and just have terrible eyesight. I have Rudi Project Maya Frames with Zeiss varifocal lenses for the past 2 years and they have been by far the best I have ever had. Use them from waking till I fall asleep at night for everything, mtb, road in the rain, reading, driving etc. They have a water repellent/anti reflective/anti fog and anti scratch coating and darken in the sun. Lenses expensive but not when you take into account how many hours a day they are used and how long they last and how they change your life! From any good optometrist!
  8. Keep going man. Just get on the horse again. Pick the quietest road you can at first! You will suffer far worse waiting for the heart attack and getting fat from disabling diseases etc.Try mtb too!
  9. Assos feels nice (its kinda tingly) but does not last long(disappears) and contains herbal stuff which may or may not work against the bacteria that cause saddle sores. Much better imo is Mark II. It lasts much longer, costs less than 1/2 the price and contains a medical antibacterial agent.
  10. I have been riding with a friend now for the past 5 years. He is now 74. He keeps doing his personal best in events so you are never too old! He did approx 3H40 for 94 last year! Its all in the mind!
  11. Scientifically there is NO HARD EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER that in a healthy person with a healthy diet vitamin C or any other vitamin or so called "immune booster" does anything at all to prevent colds or flu. In fact if you eat a balanced varied diet you should not need vitamin supplementation. The following is a logical scientific approach that will help 1) get a flu jab yearly (the whole family!) 2)Avoid shaking hands or kissing anyone at all as they only usually let you know they are sick after doing this! 3)Avoid as far as possible being in cars or closed rooms (esp with air cons) with sick people(open the windows!). 4)After exercise have a warm shower asap 5) Wash your hands often during the day and try to avoid touching your face with your hands during the day.
  12. You should not do any static stretching at all before training or racing. You can do dynamic stretches but they are kinda hard to do esp just before a race. Safest just to do a short ride with a few short sprints. Stretch AFTERWARDS.
  13. Hi again Leonard Do you do any hub options that don't have the clicking ratchet sound? I have dura ace training wheels and I'm used to the silence!
  14. can you get away with the carbon pads though with the alu training wheels? Changing pads every time will be a problem!
