  1. I first went to the lady that was scanning, told her I did not bring my chip but that I have on on my bike, she sent me to the chip collections desk (She probably misunderstood and thought I didn't have a chip at all), where they told me if I already have one it's fine I can just show the lady my confirmation email and go through. So I went back and explained that to the lady and she didn't even look at my email and let me in.
  2. I got in for free, without my chip
  3. Yep... 1st time I rode my carbon wheels on my usual trails I was very surprised, it felt that just releasing the brakes was enough for the bike to the pick up speed again, 1 revolution and I was back to full speed !
  4. Don't stress about the weather (cape point forecast) Maybe rather stress about the water you drink or who you shake hands with... Been in bed for 36hrs and still feel very weak and flat due to the damn bug that's been going around for the last 2/3 three months... 2nd time it hits me hard in two months, and I've heard of a few other people that are in the same boat. Not ideal for post tour du cap recovery, I was planning on firing all cylinders by tomorrow, now I'm thinking of doing at best reco/z2 rides until the race and hope for the best
  5. Also interested in knowing what scale you're using, maybe it could boost my w/kg πŸ˜‹
  6. It's the seeding, same for 30+, those who have a good enough seeding are in $ the rest in & (not sure why not in @ though... cause we skip a whole group to end up with 50+) In my opinion age groups should be age groups and those who don't qualify (meaning not top 100 or 200 whatever) in their age group fall back to the alphabet salad.
  7. I missed the part where it says female EDIT : it's also for the males: First place in the following male age groups will also be awarded from this group: junior, U23, Elite, 30-34 and 35-39
  8. I did not know this !
  9. Maybe those idiots should ride harder on the actual race. What a bunch of Ds
  10. People really do that on their 2nd lap ? Isn't it supposed to be a social lap where you take the time to chat with your mates ?
  11. I don’t think it is a problem if there’s some road on the route, I ride that side all the time connecting spes bonna/faircape/capaia/occultdale…., the problem is that the road is the same as the road used for the road event (crossing from malans to fair cape on aderley for example), I also see there’s some gravels roads along wellington road ? Also note that you can use crappy roads that you couldn’t use for the road event (marne road ?) For me the main problem is that Durbie Dash this year is the best seeding event for CTCT (although it doesn’t give the supposed sub 2 index to its winner 😜😜) so many might prefer the road event to the alternatives if it’s all the same day. In a perfect world with a friday or monday public holiday if would be nice to ride all three events on separate days and have an overall ranking 😜😜😜
  12. Isn't there any demand for gravel races that aren't 100 milers, 200km or 5 days races ? Isn't a simple 100-120km option a good idea too ?
  13. Lovely πŸ₯ΆπŸ€£
  14. I have something like that on my gravel bike yes πŸ‘
  15. More like the Wilco show actually 😜
  16. My worst nightmare The honeycomb rider was badly hurt too ? I crashed ON him as he was the first guy down just in front of me, his teammate clipped his front wheel by slotting in ON him...while looking at him.... I don't understand how that's even possible
  17. I agree, but i’ve done a ton of miles on the old force, that already had tons of miles when I bought it. But my old force had interchangeable chainrings though
  18. Nope, 100% false. These take 2032 batteries and those chainrings are bulletproof (as long as you stay on top or your chain wear)
  19. And they often leave some unidentified liquids on the road… not nice to roll through that
  20. it's the same price as the old one, which nowadays is pretty rare. Otherwise apparently same (shitty for the front) shifting performance. Only upside in my opinion is hoods design. I haven't ridden my Rival ones yet but from what I've seen they are a lot closer to what shimano offers (which is far better). But the looks... man this looks cheap... The current Rival crank actually looks better IMO
  21. We're with the elites, if he goes with one guy of one team there's no point going with. But when bridges attempts go, we must be quick to respond
  22. Yoh !! that's a lot of hardware ! I'm looking for the bolt and nut that allows to fit this on this : And it looks like this : It's the last piece I need to finish rebuilding my MTB πŸ˜…
  23. This is starting to look proper now ! Had my axs moved from the mtb to the gravel bike with some rivals hoods. 8.9 kg with a lot of sealant in the tyres ☺️☺️ Not sure it explains the +300g though
  24. Anyone has a t6 ? πŸ˜… I ticked the wrong box (didn’t see the hole in the middle πŸ€ͺ) Probably won't be able to fit the knew wheel afterwards anyways... And of course I cut the cable before I found out 😎
  25. Hey man I send you a DM πŸ˜‡
