  1. It's crazy, so many people who travel all the time live there, 3hr drive before and after flights sounds like a massive drawback ! I guess not paying taxes on a massive income makes up for it.
  2. Frowned upon ? I've been doing it since I started cycling, never had one car hooting at me there
  3. Let me know when you plan a 3x Tokai Mast then Well done man, looked like a proper sufferfest !
  4. About time. We’ve been calling for officers to ride bikes there with a backup team for months ! the fact that it happened this morning means the arrests that happened a month ago didn’t solve the issue then…
  5. thanks, as long as he's alright
  6. what happened to beers ? he was right behind colombo at the top of the climb and disappeared?
  7. There was good cooperation between us (2 Asap, both in VB) and Rdx (2 VA) as well as one other team that I think was a mix of VA and VB, they actually won the VA by the way, not sure where they were from, I think garden route. But none of the teams were going to sacrifice themselves so that a guy from the other team wins, just to bring back the title in CT 😅. I was disappointed in the end that we didn’t get any title for sure, but provincial tactics, meh I don’t believe that’s a thing 😅
  8. What do you mean by provincial tactics ? Joburg guys letting Joburg guys win against CT guys ? Tbh I doubt that's what happened, but maybe. I just think everyone thought there's one team with 6 strong guys, nothing can be done against them. Let's just be passengers and maybe get lucky. What is for sure is that the team that won played it perfectly sending a guy up the road in the first minutes of the race, then another joining him quickly, and then sitting in the bunch with their 4 other guys, ready to jump the minute we close the first gap. They had numbers so they could afford to take those risks. Everyonelse racing for themselves had no interest in burning matches so early. That's road racing. Hopefully next year a course more like last year, where team numbers and tactics play less of a role, and pedaling hard decides the race.
  9. I started road with oval chainrings, because that's what was on the bike when I bought it, had tons of chaindrops and issues with shifting between big and small blades. I also ran ovals on my MTB for years, because I don't know, guess I was told it was better. Eventually went to round chainring because it was more convenient, felt ******* difference, except for less chaindrops while backpedaling (not that I had many either on ovals to be honest). I'm personnally rather convinced it's a gimmick, haven't had ovals on any of my bikes for years and always am surprised when I seen someone still using them. I think some youtubers proved more or less convincingly that they could go over technical climbs better with round that oval chainrings 😜. Can't say I've had the same experience.
  10. That was actually pretty pro hey, except I didn't like it when they showed the bunch 3VB-1VA, because then everyone was looking at us even more to bring it back 🤣
  11. Sounds like the SV race, except we never gave them more than 2 mins
  12. 100% BMW's fault for sure 🤣
  13. wearing a R5k shirt on a boat last week on his IG. seems he's doing better than just that (and good for him !)
  14. He was there at WPL Philadelphia, but also not really there, as in he didn't really play an active role.
  15. On the inside, just take the one side of the tyre off of the rim for 20/30cm, dry the area where you’ll patch, sand paper it, clean it, apply the glue, put the patch, let it dry a few mins, pop the tyre back in and inflate it again. Don’t even need to take the wheel off. i’ve actually once used one of there self adhesive patches on the road after flatting and realising my sealant was all gone, took me home, and I was far from home when it happened ! I bought dynaplugs for SA gravel champs last year. Haven’t plugged a tyre since so never used it !
  16. What you need is the same box we had 20years ago with 2 levers, some glue, sand paper and lots of patches. Good old patches will always save your tyres as long as they’re not sliced on the sidewalls. You can carry cheaper plug applicators/plugs with you and a couple Co2 cartridges. Plugs should take you home, but patch when you get home to be 100% sure. can’t remember the last time I plugged a road tyre although I had to uber not so long ago after a stone made a 1cm cut on my sidewall. I’ve been swapping around tyres recently and realised most of the tyres I had kept in my garage had one or two patches in them. Put them back on and had 0 issue even though they’ve been collecting dust for months
  17. Last incident reported : today Total incidents reported : XXX Amount of ****s given by authorities : none would be a cool sign 🤣
  18. It’s not a matter of if but when… at some point someone will lose patience and do what the authorities should’ve done months ago.
  19. No, it was always a rip off. For a race where you can barely get you bottles refilled at the WP when you get there in 5th place, and no water at the finish on a 40+° day. Hope they do better this year for the peeps who'll attend
  20. Thanks man, is there any short term action to make the risk of attack drop a bit ? Or should we keep avoiding the area as much as we can until the mid/long term actions are put in place ? Do we even know who put the guards that some of us have seen on a few occasions watching the area ? They looked like private ?
  21. nice guys well ******* done 🤗
  22. whatever bru, someone is trying to do something peaceful to solve a problem for all of us, doesn't need random people behind their keyboard to tell them it's useless. That kind of attitude is the reason why nothing's being done about anything
  23. 40 likes on his facebook post and 13 shares. On IG I didn't personnaly liked but I shared on my story. Sounds to me that you are being negative although nobody asked your opinion. Come, don't come, do what you want. I hope many people will come, it can't hurt. worst case is it does nothing. Hoping for a positive outcome. BTW here's the map 7 am start from woodbridge island
  24. Is that the knob xray you were refering to ?
