  1. I was once almost taken out by an ANC supporter but it ended up that we couldn't decide on the restaurant
  2. I applaud all of you who have adopted a constructive approach to dealing with this incident. One thing that I would like to suggest is introducing a written exam in order to obtain a racing license, pretty much like obtaining a driving license. Honestly, I am pretty distant from the ruling bodies of cycling in SA, so if this has been suggested before, please forgive me.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Road cycling is a pretty dangerous sport, people are being injured, sometimes badly, every week in races, and this incident shows that a riders personal safety is often in other peoples hands. In order to race licensed it should not be a matter of just applying for a license and away you go and race. Applicants should have to attend a training course, followed by a written exam, which on passing, they are granted licenses. This can be managed at club or team level. In this way you can teach all cyclists, young and old, all about bunch riding ethics, do?s and don?ts as well as basic road rules (like training on the highway with your bike is illegal). I think this would greatly increase the safety of our racing in SA, as I will be the first to admit that I am not au fait with all the racing rules and bunch etiquette. And Pickles, I truly sympathise with your son and also wish him a speedy recovery, but I don't believe this is a 'race' issue but rather an 'educational' issue.
  3. You capies sound a tad racists there! From this posting on the hub and the ones before this one, can I safely assume no other crashes ever occur in CT besides the ones caused by 'development' riders? Jeez in Gauteng there are crashes every week in our races, so would it be correct to say that the whiteys in Gautend ride their bikes like blacks or that the whiteys in CT are just exceptionally gifted riders that it is just not possible for them to cause any crashes? Skye, I sincerely hope Glyn tells you exactly where to shove your complaint!
  4. Hysterically funny dude
  5. BigH, Stand on the guard yourself if you not happy. That should wake him up

  7. Does anyone out there ride a saddle without any padding such as a carbon only saddle, and what does your bum feel like after a 100k race?
  8. My LBS confirmed there is a problem with the FSA bolts, but apparently there are different bolts that can be used to cure the problem.
  9. Colanal, you sound like a sad little insecure bully with a big fat complex. I bet that in reality you are quite pathetic and that life f**ks you up the ass at every corner, and the only way you can feel 'big' about yourself and feel like a man is to insult people with your gutter mouth while hiding behind the safety of your computer. Dude, your true personality is not very nice and absolutely nothing to be proud of Hmmm, no not atall, I would and will tell you the same thing to your face and ask anyone who knows me they will back that up. Im not scared of you or anyone else for that matter, if I get moered so be it, bruises heal but your ego doesnt. PM me your cell number and I will phone you and tell you and then if you come for the Argus let me know I will tell you to your face. PS: Remember how this all started? Wasnt it cause someone at TCS and your club doped and was caught? Now its my fault??? Joker, you are seriously clutching straws dude its so pathetic. The TCS rider got what he deserved but your attack on the club, sponsor and ever other TCS member was totally out of line and the venom and bile with which it was done shows the size of the chip on your shoulder. The glee you got from kicking someone when they are down, and to be proud of it, speaks volumes of your poor character.

  11. And did you notice that when colanal and fannydoucher dish it out Admin is very very very very slow on removing the post? Admin, what is your problem man?
  12. Naaay! This is just so boring! Clip clop clip clop, I'm outa here
  13. I think these chicks were just horsing around So why the looong face then? You should have reined them in and given them the hoof
  14. Ah cool, I see you have patched your software to catch the spaces. But could you go back a few pages and edit the profanities out please.
  15. Ditto. What about deleteing all these hey Admin?
  16. This is very heavy: Giant TCR Advance Team 2008 (Small) ISP1245Fork 340 Small frames should be under a kg at least and don't have to be expensive either (look at planet-x or token frames). Ritchey and Easton make forks well under 300 grams, so you could cut a whopping 400grams in total on the frame and fork. Also, full carbon saddles are available at round about 85grams, you may wanna consider a change there as well. But hey, you have some awesome kit there, I would be happy with a bike under 7 kgs
  17. Jeez, what a ball ache hey?
  18. Seriously Bob, overtraining is real. Pros generally have coaches and doctors looking after them in order to keep them in good condition so that they don't overtrain. On the other hand, over zealous amateur racers and ignorant fun riders typically don't pick up the symptoms of over training until it is too late. I?m no sports scientist but my understanding is that when you train you push your body beyond its capacity and actually break it down somewhat. Rest allows your body to recover, rebuild and strengthen, so your new capacity is now slighly higher than what is was. This is an iterative process on the path of getting fitter and stronger. However, if you don?t afford your body enough time to rebuild i.e. you overtrain, then you eventually weaken your body to the point where your performance takes a fat dive ?cos your body just can?t cope with the physical demands anymore. You often very susceptible to getting sick at this stage because your immune system is also weakend. It can take a good few weeks to recover from this. Overtraining is often a result of the misconception that training makes you stronger, so the more you train the stronger you get. This is wrong. Training makes you weaker, the rest and recovery after the training makes you stronger.
  19. The only ailment you are suffering from at the moment is your quasi-intellect. You are going to be dissappointed when it gets cured
  20. You probably don't know anything about overtraining because you actually have to train before you can 'over' train. So don't let it worry you too much, you're pretty safe their Bob.
  21. Maybe you just need to warm up properly before you push hard.
  22. Very surprized it did not have a roof rack with a Canondale on it
