  1. That is my brother and his son, I told them the same thing
  2. Was yesterday, and the pics are poor quality, but my nephews, brother and I had a fun little session at Robyn Park yesterday...
  3. Hey guys, I am looking for a set of 3x7 trigger shifters, and also a 1x6 trigger shifter, anybody have anything like that?
  4. Little muddy morning ride at Modderfontein
  5. Seems to be new kit week for me ???????? some new baggies from One Day Only
  6. Did a green loop yesterday with a little bit of the yellow loop, a fair bit of work has been done, but on the 2nd turn off for the yellow loop, Yellow Hartebees reverse I think it is, there are patches where you literally cant see past your front wheel, not pleasant or safe, the slow reeds have been cut back nicely, so I was really excited about doing the fast reeds, what a let down, still very much overgrown, reeds slapping you in the face and arms, again, not pleasant or safe, from there on the trails where pretty good, but a lot of work still needs to be done
  7. Got me some new wheels and tyres, super excited to teat them out ????????
  8. Cajees Cycles in Boksburg, yup, 29" 2.5WT
  9. Reminds me why I want one so bad, such a good looking bike
  10. Pics please ????
  11. Got mine at Cajees cycles in Boksburg, but that is a little far for you Maxxis Aggresor 2.5 may work as well? Maybe others can chime in on that? R650 on Bike Addict
  12. Got myself a Minion DHF 2.5WT the other day for R650. Not sure how it is going to roll, but shouldn't be that big an issue. I was running a Butcher 2.3 on the front and did a couple 50-65km rides with it and never thought "sheesh, I need a lighter faster tyre," having said that, I did/do not know any better, so.....
  13. Must be a typo, R50 entrance for riders
  14. So looking at upgrading my wheels soon, I am kike 80% sold on a set of Rapide TR29-30 SL wheels, the price and the option of Red hubs and the weight are the biggest selling points for the Rapide wheels, however, Lyne are in the running still as well, they are a fair bit heavier than the Rapide set, but are also a bit stronger I would imagine, and the high engagement hub of the Lyne wheels has me wondering if I shouldn't rather go with them? Can anyone here offer up some opinions/advice?
  15. Cool, I am actually looking at tyres at the moment, so will keep them in mind, had a quick look at them and they look like a good option
  16. I wasnt asking for advice, I just questioned the fast rolling Assegai comment, I dont think Assegai and fast rolling can be used in the same sentence. Not to be offensive, but in all honesty, I wouldnt take your advice on tyres, not because it isnt good advice, but because it isnt relevant to me. I am a fat, slow, unfit noob in Gauteng, there is very little need for me to have DH casings and all the weight that comes with them, at the moment I have a Slaughter/Butcher combo, stock tyres on my bike, with GRID casing, and have had zero punctures or dinged rims.
  17. Assegai in a fast rolling combo? WTF? ????
  18. Not disagreeing with you, they have let it go to long without any maintenance
  19. Even the walking trails, my wife and I go walking there often, the trail are much better than they were 2 weeks back, but still not right, as you say, grass cuttings left on the trail itself making it VERY slippery, but I also understand that what do they do with that cut grass? Imagine how many bags would be needed to clear it, and just raking it off to the sides wouldnt help much as it would just make its way back to the trails, its a 6 of one half a dozen of the other scenario, they do need more people to work on the trails though, I think its just one guy doing it all at the moment, and that is half the problem
  20. Very lekker place to ride, go give it a bash ????
  21. Jirre, were you waiting for me for that long? ????‍♂️
  22. Little ride at Rietvlei this afternoon
  23. Cool, thanks, you guys are smashing much longer distances than I am currently, I only do like 25-30km, but will start exploring more towards Greenhills/Meadowdale/Harmelia areas, at the moment I am going through Bedfordview mostly, this was my most recent route
  24. Do you guys start from home or from somewhere else? Looking for different routes, my route is getting boring now
  25. Trip to Lesotho with my Brother's Jeep, taken on Sani Pass And some of my favourite pics taken at Garden Route Trail Park on Forest Frenzy and Crazy Creek.
