  1. Thanks man, luckily she got over it last night already, and even admitted that she thought it looks great, and this morning was ride time, she got coffee in bed, but breakfast will have to be another day ????????
  2. Thanks man ???? Had my first little outing on it this morning, just at Modderfontien, LOVE IT, so much more fun and playful than the Stumpy I had, the Stumpy was great, but this.... ????????????????
  3. So, this was not really supposed to happen, I found a used bike that I REALLY wanted to buy, but communication with the seller was a struggle to say the least, put my bike up for sale, and it sold rather quickly, but again, seller of the bike I wanted couldn't be reached, so now, I was without a bike, went on the search again, getting prices on new bikes, because all the used bikes were not what I wanted, but stumbled upon 2019 Norco Fluid FS1 at Mellow Velo that seemed reasonably priced, contacted them, all sold out ????????????????but, they have 2020 Norco Fluid FS1 for less than what I saw the 2019 for ???????????????? And that leads to this.... My wife is not happy about the couch, nor the bike... Thanks to Ian from Mellow Velo, this morning I was bikeless and was not sure what to do, a couple hours later, I couldn't be happier ????????????????
  4. There is a Large Silverback Slade Trail in the classifieds for R17k
  5. How does one give a buyer a rating? Marked my add as sold, put the buyers name in, but didnt get an option to rate them. Edit - nevermind, the link was sent to me ????
  6. Thanks, this is why I thought you size down, because the drop bars and stem would effectively change the reach
  7. So sad, seen 2 bikes recently on the Hub that I am keen on, sent messages and emails to the people advertising, no response, and they are both still listed, why bother advertising if you aren't going to reply to responses, and at least one of the ads has been recently "maintained"
  8. Glad this thread surfaced again, been helping my brother and nephews het their bikes ip and running again, and have found I enjoy faffing on bikes almost as much as riding them, so I am toying with the idea of a monstercross bike. But, some questions first, it has been a while since I read this thread. Normally I ride a Large, would I size down to medium for this kind of build? Also, some clarity on using a 26" or 27.5" frame with skinny 29er wheels, can that be done? And then lastly, what frame would be best? Obviously ally frames are pretty common and cheap, but would it be better to try wait out and find a nice steel frame? Or would Carbon be best? Bare in mind, this would be a super budget build with parts I can find cheap/free. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
  9. Fantastic news, thank you.
  10. Thanks to Grey Hubs, he sorted me out with everything I need and more, thank you very much ????
  11. Oh yes, that would help, for a MTB
  12. Anybody in GP have a 10 speed Shimano derailleur they would like to sell?
  13. Thanks guys, helping me figure some maths things slowly as well ????
  14. Holding thumbs, really hope we can come ride there again
  15. Maths is not my strongpoint ???? but I know that it will affected more than that as it isa 67.5° head angle
  16. Silly little question, I am sure I know the answer to, but want to make sure before I actually buy... I want to get some 31.8 carbon bars, Rapide and Lyne have at a reasonable price, but they are flat bars, and I currently have 20mm riser bars on, if I put 20mm spacers below my stem with the flat bars, will I land up with the same bar height, but with ever so slightly shorter reach?
  17. Its a GX 11speed
  18. Put an XX1 chain on my bike not even 6 months ago, and 2 months of that there has been no riding even, but lets just say 6 months worth of 50km a week, so 1200km, and it is at .5 wear already, not impressed....
  19. It was for my nephew's bike, it had grip shifters and he was struggling to change gears with them, my brother managed to find some trigger shifters, so the little guy is very happy now
  20. Good eye, its on Bill Stewart nature reserve
  21. Little bit of trails close to home, was just so good to get back on the bike again....
  22. CRC clearance sale
  23. It does ???? to be fair, it is pretty damn long, obviously still needs to be cut to length etc. Pretty stoked about this purchase, wasnt too sure if it would work or not, its a 27.5+ fork, and my bike is 29, but I checked to axle to crown distance and it was close to my old fork so took the chance, and it fits, might not be able to use a mudguard, but considering it cost like R3800 all in, I can live with that
  24. New fork arrived ????????
